Tim Vendt Announces Candidacy for the NH House – Boscawen (Merrimack County Dist. 8)

statehouseBy Tim Vendt – Candidate, NH House.

I have been a resident of New Hampshire for fifty-seven years, moving to Twin Mountain in 1961 at the age of five when my parents moved there from Massachusetts.

I joined the US Navy in 1975 after graduating from High School in 1974 (White Mountains Regional High School) and was honorably discharged in 1981 as an Avionics Technician, Petty Officer, 2nd Class.

I moved back to NH after my discharge, lived in Derry for four years and then moved to Boscawen in 1986, living here for over 32 years. I have worked in the high tech electronics industry for most of those years. My wife Martha and I raised five children in Boscawen where they all attended Merrimack Valley public schools after homeschooling for five years. They are all married and have given us nine wonderful grandchildren.

I am a Constitutional Conservative, and I believe that we have basic natural rights given to us by our Creator, codified clearly in the US Constitution’s Bill of Rights which are immutable and unalienable.

I have attended many of the annual town meetings and Merrimack Valley School District budget meetings over the years that I have lived in Boscawen. I have been increasingly concerned at the large percentage of our property tax dollars that are used by the school district and the town is left to run on with what little is left over. There has to be a way to control our education costs throughout the state without raising taxes. I am convinced that neither income nor sales taxes are the answer.

Other concerns I have is NH’s opioid/drug problem, maintaining voter integrity, illegal immigration into NH, human trafficking and ever-increasing government size, both state and federal.

I believe in encouraging small businesses and that those types of businesses, when they are allowed to flourish, are the lifeblood of a small town such as ours.

I believe that life begins at conception and that we must try to do everything possible to be a voice for and protect the most innocent of those among us.

As a veteran, I am concerned with taking care of those veterans among us that are either homeless, have addiction problems, PTSD, and other health issues. New Hampshire sadly lacks facilities to care for these men and women who have given so much for so little.

Because of these concerns, and in talking with other State Representatives and giving it much thought, I have decided to run for this seat. If elected, I will do my absolute best to bring the voices of this district, specifically the town of Boscawen, to the statehouse in Concord.

There are many important issues that will come before the 400 State Representatives in the NH House in the years to come, and I am asking you to give me a chance to be a Conservative voice for you, the residents of Boscawen and in a larger sense, residents of this great state of New Hampshire.

If you have any questions, thoughts or comments, my email address is timvendt4nh@comcast.net.

I can also be reached at (603) 731-1418 which is my cell phone. If you get my voicemail, please leave a message, and I will get back to you as soon as I am able.

Also, hopefully, I should have a webpage up in several weeks. The address will be timvendtnh.org

I would love to meet as many of you as possible, talk with you and listen to your concerns. I am free most evenings and weekends.

Thank you for your support,

It would be an honor to serve you,

Tim Vendt
