RRftSotRR – I get stuff. This next one? “Listen only to me – *I* know the truth”

Translation: “Republican Republican for the Sake of the Republican Party”. Translation: Thou shalt not diss the Party. And it is still “shut your traps”. The next section of that missive has several sections – here’s the first part of it:

RRftSotRP Missive - front-600 Part 2

I guess the writer is talking about US! Nice to be noticed and for all the right reasons.  One thing is for sure – you KNOW who we are as we almost all go by our actual names.  Yes, some people use an alias – that’s what the Revolutionary pamphleters did to keep their heads on their shoulders in working order.  It’s, you know, the entire reason for the Free Speech part of the First Amendment.  Which is exactly where I’m going with this.

Remember this from my earlier post:

Translation: when Republicans could be fat, dumb, stupid, indolent and lazy? That Republicans didn’t have to “work” at stuff? That they simply could take elections and issues for granted?

Yeah, that part. Back to the First Amendment. We have opinions here at the ‘Grok. Lots of opinions – there’s a few of us here that write stuff. Sometimes, I’ll even have different opinions on the same topic and I don’t have problems with that. You on the other hand- your mileage may vary. Certainly the writer’s does – “Don’t let them mess with your mind”.

The impression I get goes back to RRftSofRR – thou shalt not criticize under any circumstances. If you hear something that is critical, or someone speaking badly of the Party or someone in it, just plug your fingers into your ears and scream “I CAN’T HEAR YOU! I CAN’T HEAR YOU! NYAH! NYAH! NYAH!”. OK, a bit of hyperbole there but not far from the truth.

The writer forgets one very important thing – that his writings are but a microcosm of all the ideas in the Arena of Ideas. And it’s wrong. Very wrong.

First, let me get this out: if the writer thinks we’re “fake news”, that’s fine. Calling us that is also fine – that’s what the First Amendment is for. What’s NOT fine is to assume that the opinion in the missive is the very last word on all things Republican. It’s not. If the writer believes we are in error – prove it. Point by point otherwise he’s dabbling in blithering himself.

The age old scam is to enforce “only listen to ME, only listen to US!”. As we go along in this, we’ll see that his admonition of “Be skeptical” only goes one way – of everyone not the writer.

Us? I’ve said it for years: don’t just trust us, VERIFY us. One of my rules is that linking is mandatory if a Grokster is commenting on something or, as I do often, highlighting a fact. OUR readers deserve that much respect to know where we get our stuff so y’all can tell for yourselves. Be Skeptical – of everyone. Including us but the writer isn’t being merely skeptical but condemning.
