Out-of-State Progressives Trying to Buy State Senate District 8

Democrat Jenn Alford-Teaster, a first-time candidate who is running for State Senate District 8, recently reported over $63,000.00 in campaign contributions.  The seat is currently held by Republican Ruth Ward, who raised less than $15.000.00 over the same period.

Alford-Teaster’s massive haul piqued my curiosity, so I reviewed her filing.  It’s really interesting.

Alford-Teaster reports as travel expenses what appears to be a plane ticket to the District of Columbia.  I reach that conclusion because she also reports as a campaign expense a charge at DCA (Regan National Airport) on April 27th.  Why would a candidate for the New Hampshire State Senate need to campaign in Washington, DC?

But that’s not the only out-of-state campaigning reported by Alford-Teaster.  She reports multiple Uber charges on May 7th and May 8th, which appear to involve New York City.  I reach that conclusion because she also reports as a campaign expense a charge of approximately $35.00 at Molly’s Pub in New York City on May 8th.  Again, why would a candidate for the New Hampshire State Senate need to campaign in New York City?

The short answer is that the New Hampshire Democrat Party is attempting to buy a State Senate seat.  What’s notable about Alford-Teaster’s donations is that most of the individuals who donated to her campaign appear to be not just from outside Senate District 8, but from outside New Hampshire.  And not only are her major contributors located outside Senate District 8, there are many, many large contributions from outside New Hampshire.  For example:

Elizabeth Alter NY, NY $500.00

Jacqueline Bispee NY, NY $2,000.00

Shawn Buessy NY, NY $500.00

John Dawson Palo Alto, CA $2,000.00

John Delaney Potomac, MD $2,000.00

Glenn Krevly NY, NY $500.00

Sarah O’Neill NY, NY $500.00

Matt Russ Spartenburg, SC $500.00

Karyn Sporkin Woodbury, NY $500.00

Eric Sporkin NY, NY $300.00

Craig Starn Norwalk, CT $500.00

Aaron Wells, Washington, DC $1,000.00

Why are all these out-of-Staters donating to a candidate for State Senate in New Hampshire?  The answer becomes apparent when you consider her major in-State donors who read like a Who’s Who of hardcore progressives:

Martha Fuller-Clark and spouse, $10,000.00

John Garvey (one of #VolinskyAgenda’s you-counsels in Claremont case), $3,000.00

Peter Burling, $1,000.00

Dan Feltes, $1,000.00

Martha Hennesy, $1,000.00

Since the 2016 election, we have seen various out-of-State individuals and groups pouring big dollars into New Hampshire to pass progressive legislation.  It appears that the candidacy of Jenn Alford-Teaster is a variation on that theme.  But instead of spending the money on lobbyists, the Left is cutting out the middleman and purchasing a State Senator.
