Data Point – down about the news cycle.

The latest Pew Research Center survey found that nearly three-quarters of the nation feels worn out by the fast pace of news.

“Almost seven-in-ten Americans (68 percent) feel worn out by the amount of news there is these days, compared with only three-in-10 who say they like the amount of news they get. The portion expressing feelings of information overload is in line with how Americans felt during the 2016 presidential election, when a majority expressed feelings of exhaustion from election coverage,” said Pew.

Even though I’m a self-admitted and self-described news and political junkie, I’m worn out (albeit, at a higher level than Normal people).  Even as I type this, I have over 100 tabs open in my browser and almost ALL of them are post worthy.  Given that it is almost 10pm EDT, and it’s been a long day, I’m betting I’ll only get three more quick posts before I’m done for the night.

I’ve said before, when we first started the ‘Grok we could count on perhaps 2 or 3 major stories to touch upon and we’d be on top of things.  Twelve years later, I have probably 50 such stories in those 100 odd tabs.  Who can keep up?  Certainly not moi, as I like the rest of the Groksters, Life intrudes into blogging time big time (as it should) but even if all I did was that, I’d still not be able to keep up.

And you probably can’t either, so I don’t feel so bad.
