Yep, this should scare us all now that Progressives are openly saying this (and Milquetoast Republicans going along with their other tactic of “Death by a 1,000 cuts”) as in “Politics is all about compromising”). There should be no compromise at all by those of us that believe in what the original text of the Constitution reads because as one of the Parkland Kiddies said in parroting their Progressive masters “if you give us an inch we will take that mile”. We should also be willing to act like haughty English teachers and diagram the Second Amendment for them so as to show them the operative clause is Primary (since they haven’t the knowledge to do so themselves). Or if here in NH, quote Article 2-A which is more direct.
