Women’s March Bemoans Shutdown of Prostitution and Child Sex-Trafficking Site

Womens MarchBackpagecom CEO Carl Ferrer has rolled on his cofounders and executives admitting that he, “conspired with other Backpage principals … to find ways to knowingly facilitate the state-law prostitution crimes being committed by Backpage’s customers.”  The site is charged with money laundering, prostitution, sex trafficking and child sex trafficking.

The Women’s March official response to shutting down backpage.com? No.

According to RCP,

For years, some of the smartest lawyers in the country have been trying to nail the website. A years-long Senate investigation found with absolute certainty that it wasn’t just running ads selling trafficked women and children, it was actively helping their pimps to skirt the law and hide from investigators.

The Women’s March Tweet, also care of RCP,

“The shutting down of #Backpage is an absolute crisis for sex workers who rely on the site to safely get in touch with clients. Sex workers rights are women’s rights. Follow@SafeSpacesDC @melissagira @swopusa @KateDAdamo @supporthosechi@anaorsomething for more info.”

Kate D’Adamo. That’s a familiar name.

She’s the human trafficking advocate legalized prostitution activist who got a very brief gig on New Hampshire’s Hampshire Human Trafficking Collaborative Task Force. One of her first moves as the leader of this group was “to have all members sign confidentiality agreements and not discuss task force business outside of its meetings.”

Her being associated with the Women’s March is not surprising. But is the women’s March’ objection to a human and child sex trafficking site’s demise surprising?

No.

The idea that this group has any interest in women’s rights is perverse. But that aside, recall that this is also the Group behind the student gun-grab walkout and many a politician has provided vocal support and cover for both.

Ask them if they support this too. It is after all ‘for the children.’
