If You Like Great Food and Frank Sinatra…

Michael Dutra - Sinatra ImpersonatorA few months ago we planned an evening out. Frank Sinatra Night at Tuscan Kitchen in Salem. Get dressed up. Dine on some excellent Italian food (4 courses) and listen to a Frank Sinatra impersonator.

What could go wrong?

As you’ll likely know by now, I had a heart attack Monday. I came home Thursday. But sitting and listening is well within my very limited post-cardiac-event wheelhouse (and the Tuscan Kitchen in Salem has an elevator so no long staircases) so we went.

It. Was. Awesome.

Michael Dutra sounds like Sinatra. I don’t mean a little like him, but a lot like him.

If you’ve seen it, you’ll know. If you have not (assuming you like Sinatra Music), you should go. You will not be disappointed.

He’s got the schtick down and everything, probably because he’s been at this for most of his life. A truly emersed experience – minus the smoky room, of course.

We had a great time, and on no notice, the staff was able to swap out the delicious-looking but not exactly heart healthy four-course meal that comes with the price of admission, for something I could both eat and enjoy.

So, my many thanks to the staff for the on-the-fly accommodation.

If it’s something you think you might enjoy, check it out.

And if this helps, here’s one of many videos you can find on YouTube.
