Alyssa Milano and MoveOn.org Pretend To Do Some Good

nraThe NRA does not represent all gun owners. In fact, it can’t lay claim to more than a fraction of them. But it makes an excellent Alinsky-esqe target the left can try to isolate. Having said that, the effort continues apace. Which means MoveOn is fundraising off it and some has-been actress named Alyssa Milano is happy to help.

I’ve spent every minute possible since then organizing a new campaign called #NoRA, which brings together some of the country’s best creative minds, leading gun control experts, Parkland students, and activists, all ready to take on the National Rifle Association (NRA) directly—since it’s the NRA that is standing in the way of every single gun control measure.

And next week we’re going right to the belly of the beast: We’re heading to the NRA’s annual meeting in Dallas, where Mike Pence will deliver a speech—to organize large-scale actions and protests.

#NoRA is partnering with MoveOn and allies to make sure we can really make ourselves heard there, and that’s why I’m writing you with an urgent request: Will you chip in $3 now to MoveOn to help us confront the NRA directly?

The email [emphasis in the original, btw] goes on an on, but you get the idea.

Now get another idea.

NRA Announces Record Fundraising Haul, Fueled By Small Donor Backlash.”

With anti-NRA demagoguery dialed up to eleven after the Parkland shooting, anti-gun activists have succeeded in eroding the public’s views of the organization. But they’ve also helped recruit legions of new NRA members and donors.

Boom!

As the student-led March for Our Lives movement captured the nation’s attention in the weeks after the Parkland shooting, the other side of the gun control debate enjoyed a banner month of its own. The National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund raised $2.4 million from March 1 to March 31, the group’s first full month of political fundraising since the nation’s deadliest high school shooting on Valentine’s Day, according to filings submitted to the Federal Elections Commission.

It’s the same reason Trump got elected. No not Russian Collusion you left-wing-loser, every-day American’s do not like the political left or its crusades.  They want to be left alone.

Democrats take that to mean they should inject themselves and the state deeper into their lives. They think it is a good idea to call people who don’t want that names. They are offended by your patriotism your morality, your faith, but mostly because you resist pressure to do and say as they do. And they will only tolerate that if you shut up and don’t get involved.

Typically they try to use the law, or just subvert it, to locate donors to harass them. Send a message. You donate to this; you’ll get that.

Getting money out of politics is about getting your money out of politics that they oppose. Same goes for everything else including the press, free association, free speech and the right to self-defense.

You don’t deserve it if it keeps them from getting their way. And the right to self-defense is so in the way of them being able to tell you what to say and do that they will try anything to take it from you, piece by piece.

Which gets up back to where we started. Alyssa Milano. Like most liberals, she knows better. But if that were true, she’d understand the reason why we have the second amendment. It’s so that what she advocates, the creeping tyranny of state-control over force, doesn’t happen.

She’s willing to give in to that for the perception of security which, given that she’s using Parkland as her motivation proves just how tiny is the blue bubble from which she speaks.

Parkland was a colossal failure of the state as a protector. Not only did the so-called safety nets have holes, the State cut some and made others bigger. That which he seeks to empower is responsible for the tragedy that motivates her.

Dumb.

That won’t stop the people packed in that tiny bubble with her from joining the crusade, which is why we must be forever vigilant.

No matter what their numbers they will never give up, so neither can we wheter you support the NRA or not.
