Tales from the BudComm – election time edition

Gilford DemocratsYep, it’s that time of year, and in my hamlet, only the BudComm has contested races – go figure!  The “Gilford Democrats” are all up in arms thinking that the BudComm members are going to take the their School Board budget and almost all of them are on the Government payroll (or family members are).  Joe Wernig, who takes a paycheck from the School Board, threatened the BudComm members that were up for re-election to the effect of “we WILL take your seats” during the Public Session for the budget.  This was handed to me via loyal reader (from Facebook, reformatted, emphasis mine):

Ok, Gilford People….most of you probably have received a mailing today from the Gilford Taxpayer’s Association encouraging you to vote for their candidates for Budget Committee and write in a Free Stater who is also our State Rep for school board…Please write in Jeanin Onos for School board and vote for Tom Chase, Tracie Corbett, Kristin Snow and myself for Budget Committee…Those of you with young children need to make sure you get out and vote, if these people get elected, they will cut, cut, cut from the school and town budgets!!! This is scaryI want your kids to have the same opportunities my children have had growing up in Gilford….. Please pass the word, get registered and vote…

Thanks to Joe Wernig for this posting. Please copy and paste as often as possible.

Anyone want any yard signs?

True to form “It’s about the CHILDREN”. Wernig is delusional and hasn’t done his homework – that “cut, cut, cut” lie has already been debunked (by someone else that hates the BudComm who pointed out how little it actually does cut).  Not only that, how little does he WANT to know how much money goes directly for things for the children (as opposed to the Gilford Teachers Association – did I mention Joe is also a teacher as well as a Gilford track coach??).  Glad to know, Joe Wernig, that you hate the idea, via attacking Glenn Adrich, that ANYONE should EVER want to CUT any GOVERNMENT budget must be demonized.  A little self-serving, dontcha think? And throwing in that bogeyman “Free Stater” stuff – you must be an acolyte of Zandra Rice-Hawkings.  You hated the idea of the TEA Party, too – anyone that doesn’t fall in line with the Democrat policy is anathema.

This was passed along to me as well (still trying to get the URL for it) – it may also be Joe Wernig (not sure) as it seems to be his style of ranting

if he is with Norm, then I would want to know, does he want to stop Special Education in the school?  Take away all athletics? Take away overtime for ALL town and school personnel?  Does he want to micro-manage the budgets of the town AND schools?  Is he a bully who will threaten and try to throw his weight around to get what he wants?  Does he want to cut out some of the Police and Fire Department?  Does he want to eliminate all assistance for mental health?

These are just a few things that he and his cronies are trying to do.  I get that we need to save and get reform, but not like this.  Not by cutting life saving services.  I honestly would not believe this if I was not there in the meetings to see them and hear these things for myself.  If he is in any way like Norm, then I cannot in good conscience ever vote for him.  And as the mailing that went out was stating that they were running together I think that says everything I need to know.  ????

Interesting; maybe it wasn’t Wernig because he only showed up a few times.  The sentiment seems to be the same – only the Collective matters and their “community” (government).  I have a feeling I know who is writing about but I don’t know him – and it is rather plain that the writer already has made a determination of this person without meeting him either: a bully, will throw his weight around, make cuts, hates the mentally ill?

This is, however, how Democrats think: for all their talk of inclusivity and togetherness, they are fine in pre-judging people without knowing who the heck they are.
