USDAThe US Department of Agriculture got busted using government property to “inspect” “meat” during work hours. And by ‘meat’ I mean porn.

Another federal agency is embroiled in a large-scale pornography scandal and in this case, it took leadership five months to block hundreds of websites used by employees and contractors to watch porn on government computers during work hours. It involves the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), a bloated agency notorious for wasteful spending and an eye-popping $140 billion budget.

In a management alert memo the watchdog revealed a “significant increase” in the number of USDA employees and contractors viewing and sharing unlawful or otherwise inappropriate pornographic content using their government-issued computers and other communication devices.

There are plenty of reasons to be bothered by this. Waste, abuse, security risks, and I’m own with all of that but what about “significant increase?”

A significant increase from what pre-existing baseline?

The phrase assumes that the USDA already had a porn problem. Why didn’t they do something about that and while we’re at it, what about the objectification of women? (Men don’t care if you objectify them sexually, in fact, I bet most men like it).

And while we’re having that conversation, why does the USDA have som many people with so little to do that they a) had a porn problem and (b) let it get significantly worse.
