And just like that, the school shooting problem disappeared.

concealed carry small caliberGovernment interference and progressive policy have suffered a massive blow in the wake of the Parkland shooting. What’s the government’s go-to response? Fix background checks, and they’ve already got the bill.

The Republican Fix NICS bill (supported by Schumer and Feinstein) will (among other unconscionable things) empower any federal agency in the executive branch to prohibit you on a whim from exercising your second amendment rights.

With a “word,” they can notify NICS to prohibit you from buying a firearm.

That includes Education, Energy, the IRS, even the Forest Service. All of them. Don’t worry. There’s a mechanism to get you off the list if some pencil pusher made a mistake or your name just sounds like someone else on the list.

Ask Veteran’s how this is working out for them. The VA already has this.

Now, I’m sure it will only take a few years a lawyer and a second mortgage to get your rights back, but that’s the current ruling class response to Parkland.

There’s also legislation to ban “assault weapons.” Disregarding the fact that anything used in an assault is an assault weapon, this bill, co-sponsored by progressive moon-bat Carol Shea-Porter, would reinstitute the assault weapons ban that had been in place for five years when the Columbine School shooting took 15 lives and injured 24. That bill won’t do a damn thing to solve the problem either, but nothing they do ever does or–based on history–is meant to do anything.

And Parkland is the golden-goose of government’s inability to address the problem honestly. Every single aspect of the police-state, public-policy, social re-engineering safety net failed before and during the Parkland shooting.

Every. Damn. Thing.

They can’t protect you or won’t, and it doesn’t matter which.

And the elite ruling class response is to make it harder to protect kids in gun free zones.

End gun-free zones. Stop main-streaming malcontents. Report criminal behavior to the police. Act on those reports and punish relevant agencies that don’t. Get criminals off the streets and disturbed individuals into treatment.

And harden soft-targets. Remove barriers that prevent that process. And advertise the new reality.  This campus is protected by armed personnel.

And no more internet superstars.

If a shooter never gets past the lobby, no one has to concern themselves with giving crazed malcontents the fame they may have craved. And the major media will all but ignore them.

The last thing CNN, MSNBC, the Alphabets, The New York Times, and all the rest want to report is that a law-abiding armed staff member saved dozens of lives by gunning down a would-be school shooter seconds after the attack began.

It would be like gun deaths in Chicago or Baltimore where hundreds upon hundreds die annually without as much as a raised eyebrow from cable-news talking heads.

You’d never hear a peep.  And just like that, the school shooting problem disappeared.
