Chairman Resigns from Merrimack County Republican Committee

Merrimack County Republican Committee NH GOP

Principles mean more than a political majority

The NH GOP membership is constantly reminded that the primary focus of the party is to elect someone who identifies as a Republican.  We are assured that anyone who is 80% Republican is better than the Democrat. But it is evident through the actions of the top leadership of the Republican Party (with the exception of the current Chairman), that 80% often does not represent or foster the social fiber of the party identified in the party platform where it is most needed.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Principles mean more than a political majority
Concord, NH – February 13, 2018
The following statement is attributed to Karen Testerman

It is with a heavy heart that I can no longer serve as the chairman of the Merrimack County Republican Committee effective immediately.

I want to begin by commending the current positive leadership to the New Hampshire State Republican Party provided by Jeanie Forrester.  She has fostered a much-needed pleasant climate change where efficient communication and flow of information occurs.

Over the years that I have been involved with the Republican Party in NH, there have been hard-fought victories to establish solid guidelines for party membership as specified in the NH Party Platform. God, life, and family are fundamental and for good reason.

The Founders understood that our rights do not come from the constitution but from the Creator as stated in the Declaration of Independence. For without these rights we cannot have liberty.

This is evidenced by the Republican National Committee Woman’s amicus brief on the redefinition of marriage, the Republican National Committee Man’s support of the destruction of the pre-born, the Republican-dominated Executive Council’s allocation of taxpayer funding of abortion clinics and now the Republican Governor’s position on the undermining of the natural family unit by expanding the definition of Human Rights and undermining of parental oversight on what is best for their children.

The primary leadership of this party is promoting policies in direct opposition to the stated platform; such as stripping parents of their God-given rights, promoting the distributions of taxpayer funds to the destruction of life and redefining and expanding the basic definitive terminology to institute political correctness.

I simply can no longer actively promote the election of just anyone who carries the label of Republican while on so many levels they actively promote the destruction of the fundamental building block of society, the family.

As Chairman of the Merrimack County Republican Committee, I sit on the Executive Committee that comprises the leadership of the NH GOP.  It is with a heavy heart that I can no longer with good conscience serve in this role.  I am not resigning from the committee but am stepping down from my position as a member of leadership on the Executive Committee.   This will enable me to support those who make policies that reinforce the principles put forth in the platform of the NH GOP.
