There’s a Petition To Cut The Number of Democrat Super Delegates

Democrat Party Civil WarIn a recent MoveOn.org email Chris Liquori from Portsmouth, New Hampshire is promoting a petition to cut the number of Democrat Superdelegates by 60 percent.

Vote to enact the Democratic National Committee Unity Reform Commission’s recommendations on reducing superdelegates by 60% in time for the 2020 primary cycle at the next DNC meeting.

Chris goes on to note that Superdelegates are contrary to the nature of democratic elections and the sooner we move to eliminate the undeserved influence of superdelegates, the stronger the Democratic Party will be. He wants to win back voter trust in time for 2020. Maybe because he’s a Bernie Sanders delegate?

In an interview with NPR just after “hackers” released “emails” exposing collusion between the Democrat Party and the Hillary Clinton machine, he said,

We need someone that’s actually going to be neutral running the DNC. I mean this is just completely crazy what Debbie Wasserman Schultz has gotten away with doing, and I think all of the staffers that were involved in these email leaks need to go, too. I think people need to lose their jobs over this because nobody has any faith in the party anymore.

Sanders got screwed by his party repeatedly but not in a vacuum. We reported on illegal Sanders voters in New Hampshire. And while Sanders weeps the socialist narrative he lives like an oligarch. His wife, bless her heart, took down state college. And like most Democrats in elected office, Bernie is not so much special as ‘special.’

The DNC may have had a unity thingy, and one of the notions may have been to reduce superdelegates, but the party is still run by a Clinton lackey.

The commission’s final meeting adjourned on Saturday after a few steps toward democratizing the party had won approval—due to the grassroots strength of progressives. But the recommendations from the commission will go to the Rules and Bylaws Committee, which was one of the DNC decision-making bodies that Perez subjected to a purge two months ago. Now, in the words of Jim Zogby (who was removed from the Executive Committee by Perez), “There are virtually no Bernie supporters on the Rules and Bylaws Committee.”

The outside, everyone is claiming to be ‘big tent’ inclusive and forward together but the only thing they agree on is hating Trump. On the inside, it’s the Sanders Socialists at war with the Clinton Corporatists. One side is fighting for pure political power, the other for a self-immolating social justice agenda.

The unity reform committee was just another dog and pony show by Democrat operatives to appease the rabble-rousers. The odds are good nothing substantive will change and that this will only piss off the Bernie supporters “just in time” for 2020.

It would better if we could speed that up to this year.
