“Small arsenal”? Sounds to me like the guy was getting ready for a 3-gun match

3 gun competitionI am by NO means a gun expert but this headline at Fox was guffaw bait:

Man found with small arsenal on Houston Hyatt Regency’s top floor before New Year’s Eve celebration, police say.

Don’t worry, Fox, other media outlets had similar headlines but being more of a conservative outlet, you had NO one there to double check the copy first (that is, if he or she could stop laughing first)?  You know – facts?  Correct description?  Then I saw what constituted a “small arsenal”:

  • A handgun
  • A shotgun
  • An AR-15
  • Ammo

This is a “small arsenal”????  This is why journalists (for the greatest part) should not even take an assignment dealing with guns.  EVAH!  They have no idea what they are talking about.  Ditto for politicians. JUST. STOP. TALKING. And WRITING.

So it was changed from “small arsenal” to “weapons cache” after catching much flack and derision.  Yeah, not much better than the original; just a slide sideways further into “I have no idea what I’m writing about”. BTW, how much ammo?  Dunno but I know that at a day at the range, it can get expensive doing a whole bunch of throwing rounds down range.  After all, you can’t just shoot one magazine, can ya?  One leads to two leads to five, six….and if you’re shooting a 30 round mag (that’s a STANDARD CAPACITY magazine for you dopes that refuse to edumacate yourselves instead of relying on anti-gunner ideology), that can add up to a bunch of bucks real quick.

So how many fewer guns does one have to have to demote a “small arsenal” down to a “weapons cache”?  Like I said, I’m no gun expert but I doubt that three makes it either unless you’ve stuffed them into the ground in protective covering somewhere away from your house when you thought Hillary was going to win…
