Pope Francis doesn’t see his irony on how “foreigners to the Vatican” are welcomed

Vatican WallThis from a guy who lives behind a 39 foot high wall:

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – Pope Francis strongly defended immigrants at his Christmas Eve Mass on Sunday, comparing them to Mary and Joseph finding no place to stay in Bethlehem and saying faith demands that foreigners be welcomed. Francis, celebrating his fifth Christmas as leader of the world’s 1.2 billion Roman Catholics, led a solemn Mass for about 10,000 people in St. Peter’s Basilica while many others followed the service from the square outside.

Yes, he is preaching – let everyone into your country on his say-so. After all, it’s the Christian thing to do.  Yet, this:

Security was stepped up, with participants checked as they approached St. Peter’s Square even before going through metal detectors to enter the basilica. The square had been cleared out hours earlier so security procedures could be put in place.

Gee, Mary and Joseph were never metal detected and their personages checked, were they, as they entered a walled city?  Really, is that “welcoming”?  Doesn’t that really mean “we don’t trust you implicitly”?

No papers, no letters – they just went into Nazareth.  Let’s also not forget that they were not just some random migrants wandering the hinterlands – they were on the move because of a Government order.  I believe that without that mandate, they probably would have stayed where they were and not made the journey.  And yes, it was Divinely inspired (certainly can’t forget about that!) and had a Divine purpose – the birth of Christ to fulfill prophecy.

Methinks that none of the Muslims on the move from the Middle East are doing a comparable trip – no Government, no birth, no divine process, but certainly an political-Islamic jihad, not by the sword but by immigration.  Let’s not forget that Mary & Joseph broke no laws in their trip once they arrived – I’ve been reading the mayhem and crime that many of the Middle East have brought to Europe (especially Germany and Sweden).

But that isn’t politically correct to say, is it?  But in trying to conflate the mass migration of today to the duo traveling to fulfill that prophecy is pure Political Correctness.

I guess the Pope forgot about Jesus’s adage of “render under Caesar that which is Caesar’s” – an admonition to obey the laws of the land.
