Email Doodlings – “You will be made to care”

“There are two sides to bigotry. There are those who openly oppose it, and then those who foster it. People who stay silent in the face of this bigotry provide quiet support for it.

I have no idea how I got put onto the “Cinema Libre Studio”‘s (that would be “Free Cinema” – will they be sending out free tickets?  I rather think not) email list but such as is it.  Given my response to their email, I don’t think that I’ll be on it for long.  I’ve bolded the part of this victim filled inbound email that caught my attention (and look at who is starring in it – CAIR and the Southern Poverty Law Center, Black Lives Matter…and nary a word that it is those of the Jewish faith that are most discriminated against (anti-Semitism anyone?):

Trump’s CDC Word Ban and the Reality for Minorities

Unamerican StruggleTHE UNAMERICAN STRUGGLE

Los Angeles, CA, December 19, 2017 (Newswire.com) – Winner of the Award of Merit at indieFEST Film Awards and Best Political Documentary at Atlanta Docufest, THE UNAMERICAN STRUGGLE documentary is the first examination of the rise in hate crimes and bigoted rhetoric since the election of Donald J. Trump.

Last month, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reported that hate crimes had increased by nearly 5% since 2015 in their annual Incidents of Hate report. The report recorded that 5,818 “single-bias” incidents occurred, in which one or more offense types, or incidents, were motivated by the same bias. Of those, 59.2% were motivated by a racial, ethnic and/or ancestry bias; 19.7% by a religious bias; 17.7% by a sexual orientation bias; and 3.3% by a gender identity, disability or gender bias.

For activists on the front line of the identity politics movement, this rise in hate crimes is not a surprise, and many of them feel the numbers are underreported.

Featuring Heidi Beirich and Naomi Tsu of the Southern Poverty Law Center, Angeles Valenciano of the National Diversity Council, Edward Ahmed Mitchell, Executive Director of the Georgia Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and Sir Maejor Page, President of Greater Atlanta Black Lives Matter, the film finds a consistent and resounding increase in hate crimes across the board, and subsequently, the fears of minority communities.

These fears have proven well-founded, as the Trump White House last week acted to ban the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from using the words ‘vulnerable, entitlement, diversity, transgender, fetus, evidence-based, and science-based’ in their 2018 budget documents, preventing the agency from accurately describing the needs of some of the country’s most vulnerable people.

Director Osuna, who is of Mexican-American heritage and whose Mexican father served in Vietnam, says, “There are two sides to bigotry. There are those who openly oppose it, and then those who foster it. People who stay silent in the face of this bigotry provide quiet support for it. Bigotry unchecked ushers in greater abuses to civil rights, as evident through the recent attacks on the free press, the cornerstone of American democracy. ”

Yadda, yadda, yadda, yawn.  I sent a response in.  Funny that – never got a response back:

Ah yes, “you will be made to care” as the Progressive demand once again rears its ugly head:

“There are two sides to bigotry. There are those who openly oppose it, and then those who foster it. People who stay silent in the face of this bigotry provide quiet support for it.

That demand being “you MUST pick a side because we will slime and smear you if you don’t.  WE will choose what side you are on even if (like Taylor Swift) if you really don’t care – and it will always be on the other side of what we say is right.  And it will be done for EVERY issue WE deem important”.  The Personal is political and the Political will be made personal (whether or not you like it or want to be a participant).

Nice to see that your “motivating of others” consists of smearing them.  Great way to persuade others.  Keep on doing it, please.

What ever happened to the Freedom of Choice – including that of “I don’t care”?

Sidenote:  Oh, this bit, too:

…as evident through the recent attacks on the free press, the cornerstone of American democracy. ”

Sorry, but the cornerstone of American democracy is NOT the free press (although I find it ironic that I can’t be free to choose in what to particpate in but they’re all in for a “you can never criticize” free press.  Rather, it is The Rule of Law, respect for Private Property, and a limited, non-coercive government.
