Data Point – while the rest of the world may need the Paris Accord, we don’t need no stinkin’ Accord

Words are just hot air in this regard.  That’s what they all have.  We, on the other hand, have results:

CO2reductions2000to2016

Just eyeballing it here but it seems we’ve reduced our CO2 emissions by more than the rest of them combined.

Until you realize that we outsourced much of our CO2 at the same time we outsourced everything else. A good portion of China’s CO2 and other pollutants is “ours”.

Hmmm, didn’t see my name stamped on any of it. Sorry Bruce, bad argument to make – we didn’t force ANY one to make stuff that we “might” buy. Instead, they chose to do so on their own behalf.

Sure, we may well buy it but that doesn’t mean we then own the downsides. Even your definition of “common good” can’t stretch that far.

So you believe that the loss of much of our manufacturing sector, technology transfers, out-sourcing of jobs and whole companies, and capital flight, was simply the result of “invisible hands”? Right. The magic of the marketplace, indeed.

  • And while we’re at it, let’s look at the reductions in Carbon Monoxide, and free” lead, over TWICE that time period….say, since ’85.
