Antifa

MEET THE ANTIFA: Jake Tapper makes note of ‘disgusting,’ unprovoked attacks on journalists. Weird how this kind of thing never happened at Tea Party rallies.

(emphasis mine, above) While we were boisterous, flag waving, and upset with how the country was going, we were pretty much middle class with middle class politeness and the idea that when you left the public areas where the rallies were held, you left them cleaner than when you arrived.  We had a sense of “normalism” and normal behavior even after the Left, the media, and the GOPe, I think successfully, twisted the truth of it to influence the non-political population as they had the money to do it as we didn’t.  For the former as we were an existential threat to their sense that the State should be in control and not We the People with our concentration on Constitutional boundaries and the latter as a threat to the power they believe was their’s.  The media?  Two items driving them: keeping fights going to gain eyeballs and “Democrats with bylines”.

As Glenn observes, reporters were generally treated politely and well (even as many smeared and misquoted us as soon as the interview was done) until it became clear that they weren’t “friendlies”.  We never attacked them physically although some of us (er, guess who!) did make sport of them.

Antifa? Right now they are being positioned by the Left as mere “opposers to white supremacists, KKK, and neo-Nazis”,  good people, yes?  After all, who can be against anyone that is against Nazis or the KKK (which, I remind you, was an organization of the Democrat Party)?

Well, I remind you of the clashes, mostly on college campuses nationwide, the riots in Portland, Seattle (another one recently where Trump supporters were attacked simply because they are Trump supporters), Oakland, Chicago….it seems to be never ending.  These folks are against “fascism” but the problem is how they define it.  If it really was just about real fascists, well perhaps OK (if you could ignore their violence and showing up at rallies ready to hand out physical punishment.  Frankly, it has become so wide and so encompassing it is turning out to be almost anyone that isn’t them and they are creatures of the Left.

The problem is, we can’t ignore the violence they bring.  However, the political Left is doing just that – and trying to keep them “reframed” as mere counter-protesters”.  I have to hand it to Tapper for starting to tell folks “um, maybe these aren’t the kind of folks we think they are”.  I see the opposite happening right now – a complete justification of what the TEA Party was applied to Antifa, and the TEA Party was ascribed the properties of what the REAL Antifa is now.  Up is down, Left is Right, and everyone who are not us are H8ters, racists, xenophobes, homophobes —–and fascists.

Which makes us all targets.  Get the idea that things are spiralling out of control?  I am.  What can be done about it?  Not sure – things are rapidly heading to mob control when one keeps looking at the news.

Once again, I’m contemplating “dense pack” still by the Left – just this time without holding the Oval Office, the Senate, the House, and the majority of the State Legislations and Governorship.  Is this what we get to look forward to, that meme of “War is politics by other means” – that the Left’s politics is becoming a little more War-ish since they’ve lost the levers of power gain via politics?

UPDATE:

“Both NBC News and the BBC have put out videos offering fact-checks on some of President Trump’s claims about what took place in Charlottesville. Both agree there were violent anti-fascist protesters who came to the protest looking for a fight.”

But before you go all teary eyed, might want to feel a TEENY WEENY bit of empathy  for journalists, they keep bringing us back to reality:
