Carol Shea-Porter's "Very-Fine" Deception - Granite Grok

Carol Shea-Porter’s “Very-Fine” Deception

Michelle Obama - Carol Shea-WhoOn August 18th, New Hampshire Congressperson Carol-Shea-Porter proudly announced her Co-Introduction of an Anti-White-Supremacy Resolution aimed at President Donald Trump. In a press release titled ‘Shea-Porter: President Trump’s Charlottesville Comments “A Disgrace to Our Nation,” ‘ she says,

“There are no ‘very fine’ neo-Nazis. I never thought we would hear such disgusting and outrageous comments from a President of the United States – comments that were immediately praised by David Duke, the former leader of the Ku Klux Klan. Today’s comments from President Trump are a disgrace to our nation,” said Shea-Porter.

That’s great except that Trump never said Neo-Nazis are ‘very-fine’ so David Duke can’t possibly have been thanking him for that.

Mr. Trump said,

THE PRESIDENT: Excuse me, excuse me. They didn’t put themselves — and you had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides. You had people in that group.

If you read the full transcript, you see that Mr. Trump is talking about people at the event who were not white supremacists, just as there were counter-protesters there who were not AntiFA thugs. Those are the people he’s referring to when he says “very-fine” people on both sides.

I have to wonder (not too hard mind you) if Carol SheeP-orter has read or seen a word of what is shared here. Did she have a clue what was said before describing the president as a disgrace? Before she rearranged the words so that they could mean what she wanted instead of what they meant.

Congresswoman Shea-Porter take note.

These transcripts dated August 12th, 14th, and 15th include references by the President of the United States to Charlottesville, in the immediate aftermath of the violence, in which he is clear about his opposition to that violence, to hate groups, and to bigotry. Emphasis, mine.

But we’re closely following the terrible events unfolding in Charlottesville, Virginia. We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence, on many sides. On many sides. It’s been going on for a long time in our country. Not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. This has been going on for a long, long time.

It has no place in America. What is vital now is a swift restoration of law and order and the protection of innocent lives. No citizen should ever fear for their safety and security in our society, and no child should ever be afraid to go outside and play, or be with their parents, and have a good time.

Aug 14

As I said on Saturday, we condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence. It has no place in America.

And as I have said many times before: No matter the color of our skin, we all live under the same laws, we all salute the same great flag, and we are all made by the same almighty God. We must love each other, show affection for each other, and unite together in condemnation of hatred, bigotry, and violence. We must rediscover the bonds of love and loyalty that bring us together as Americans.

Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans.

We are a nation founded on the truth that all of us are created equal. We are equal in the eyes of our Creator. We are equal under the law. And we are equal under our Constitution. Those who spread violence in the name of bigotry strike at the very core of America.

Aug 15th

THE PRESIDENT: I will tell you something. I watched those very closely — much more closely than you people watched it. And you have — you had a group on one side that was bad, and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent. And nobody wants to say that, but I’ll say it right now. You had a group — you had a group on the other side that came charging in, without a permit, and they were very, very violent.

Q Is the alt-left as bad as Nazis? Are they as bad as Nazis?

THE PRESIDENT: Go ahead.

Q Do you think that what you call the alt-left is the same as neo-Nazis?

THE PRESIDENT: Those people — all of those people –excuse me, I’ve condemned neo-Nazis. I’ve condemned many different groups. But not all of those people were neo-Nazis, believe me. Not all of those people were white supremacists by any stretch. Those people were also there because they wanted to protest the taking down of a statue of Robert E. Lee.

No disgrace as far as the eye can see because there is no shortage of condemnation from Mr. Trump for hate, the Klan, Neo-Nazis, the alt-left, or anyone there to perpetrate violence. There is also no shortage of clarification about “other people” who were “very nice” who were neither white supremacists or alt-left Antifa thugs.

Three days after the last set of remarks, the occasional congresswoman from New Hampshire takes Mr. Trump’s words out of context to smear him in a press release.

A press release whose preface has almost no truth to it whatsoever.

David Duke, according to The Hill.com, thanked the President for condemning leftist terrorists in Antifa and BLM.

He didn’t thank him for calling Neo-Nazi’s “very nice” as Shea-Porter’s press release implies (hints, suggests, infers, and so on). He was thanking him for calling out the alt-left violence that the media ignored or tried to hide in the shadow of reported alt-right violence.

Left-Wing groups whose aggression the sensitive congresswoman has not, to the best of my knowledge, herself condemned.

She certainly has NOT called them a disgrace.

Where is the outrage in that?

Don’t hold your breath. This is the woman who, when she first lost the seat to Frank Guinta in 2010 never called to congratulate him. She can be petty and bitter.

So, what if we were to take her to task on the same terms as she does Mr. Trump. If all those people over there are neo-nazis, then the media and the Democrat party need to abandon their “peaceful counter-protester” narratives from the past several weeks.

In both Boston and Berkeley, Antifa stormtroopers and others engaged police and protesters with weapons, physical violence, spitting, swearing, even throwing bottles of urine. In both of those instances, the planned and permitted peaceful events were shortened or canceled because of the threat of violence from Antifa or because of actual violence.

In both those instances, local officials and the media went out of their way to note how there were thousands of peaceful protesters among whom the violent elements mixed. Sorry, that’s not how it works anymore.

If, as Carol Shea-Porter would have you believe, such a blending is impossible, then there are no peaceful protesters when any number of those gathered engage in hate or violence. They are all “Antifa” or Black Lives Matters thugs. No one gets amnesty. Everyone gets Carol’s scarlet letter. “H8R”

This is, of course, not true.

That’s not reality. Most of those gathered were probably there for peaceful purposes. Some of them may have even been very fine, on both sides.

But we’re not talking about reality. We are talking about Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter and her dishonest press release. Which may not necessarily be a disgrace to the nation, but it is certainly a disgrace to New Hampshire and to her constituents.
