Superlative CNN journalists – they know a LOT

by Skip

CNN Counterfeit News NetworkOr at least they think so.

They sure thought they knew it all during Trump’s just concluded trip to France. You know, I’d love to call it “fake news” but it isn’t – this is plain getting it wrong at a news company that has $1.2 Billion in revenues and over 4,000 employees. You’d think that they could get basic, commonly known facts. First, the most egregious one:

CNN Anchor Poppy Harlow Calls Star-Spangled Banner French National Anthem On-Air

CNN anchor Poppy Harlow mistook the Star-Spangled Banner for the French national anthem during a live broadcast Thursday.

While covering President Donald Trump’s visit to Paris, France, to meet with President Emmanuel Macron, Harlow asked her audience to “just listen in to the French national anthem for just a moment.”

Moments later, the Columbia University-educated anchor corrected herself and said, “The U.S., American national anthem, I should say.”

I’m sorry but the two aren’t even CLOSE in their beginnings.  And one would think that an American broadcaster would know her own anthem, right?Good times, good times – Left leaning Patriotism!  As to this other example of crack reporting – didn’t this other CNN “talent” do their homework on the French equivalent of our Independence Day celebration while Trump was meeting with ?  Or their Producer, or that “crack” team of researchers? Or are they so enthralled with Trump Derangement Syndrome to care?

C’est CNN … As any student of history knows, Bastille Day commemorates the day a French mob “liberated” a few guys who didn’t want to be liberated out of the Bastille prison in Paris. It is also the French national holiday, a fact that CNN’s Jeff Zeleny obviously didn’t know. He told the CNN audience that Bastille Day commemorated the 100th anniversary of the U.S. getting into World War One. No, really, he did. The Boston Herald’s Tom Shattuck – whom this writer has worked with in the past – grabbed the video.

Layers and layers upon layers of fact checking.  And they wonder why we hold them in such low regard?
