It’s all about the demonization.
You know, Democrats just love to blow through “words” or “memes” about their opponents. It isn’t enough to call them (er, that would be us) wrong, silly, or dumb. No, it is always a case of trying to make us so distasteful personally as to make people in the middle shirk from the stances when it comes to voting. An example of what they’ve done to themselves is that at the turn of the last century, Democrats (and some Republicans) that loved the idea of Socialism (and anti_Constitutional values) but knew it would never fly at the ballot box called themselves “Progressives” – they just couldn’t be truthful. They wore that out and switched to being “Liberals” until they made that radioactive and have now switched back to Progressive. I do think it rather laughable that some of them, Bernie Sanders among them, call themselves “Democrat Socialists” as if there is a difference between being that and just being a Socialist. After all (and if you remember), none of the leading Democrats would dare tell anyone with a microphone what the difference was between a Democrat and a Socialist. But I digress.
White Supremacist – you have to appreciate the irony of Democrats, who founded the Ku Klux Klan, trying to label others as being the racists.
But there’s a precedence for it. When the TEA Party movement started to take off, the Democrats called ANYONE that opposed them and their policies a TEA Partier. Frankly, I was flabbergasted at who they called TEA Partiers – even though they were Establishment GOP folks. They used it ot “Otherize” anyone and of course made sure that almost any right of center policy that was an existential threat to them was tagged as being TEA Party.
Sidenote: there were only three: Government to return to Constitutional limits, fiscal frugality, and Free Markets
The only reason why it worked is that it became clear to the Republican GOPe Establishment that the TEA Party folks actually took both the Republican Platform and Constitutions seriously. It was because of the fact that the GOP had failed to get the job done that the TEA Party rose up – and the GOPe saw it as an existential threat to them as well so they turned on TEA Party when it became obvious (especially here in NH) that just voting was going to be insufficient for the movement.
For the last few years, however, the “call out” has been to call everyone that is not-them as “extremist!”. Any policy was declared to be “out of the mainstream”. I thought this was hilarious given that Democrats have lost the US House, US Senate, and the Presidency. Nationwide, it is they have have become the “out of the mainstream” as they are basically out of power having lost over 1,000 legislative seats, lost control of most state legislatures, and the vast majority of Governorships. They truly are delusional thinking that this is going to be “successful”.
And now, they’re going full Racist Card. Doesn’t matter if the person is or not – they’ve decided that “RACIST!” is too mild – now they are going full Monty on “White Supremacist!”. There is nothing worse in America than to be called that. Well, perhaps.
The problem is that as the Democrats keep calling people that and any subsequent names, they burn them out. They haven’t figured out that while it may buy them a very short term gain, long term it is a loser as those that get singled out are seen by those that know them as not being true. And then the Dems just can’t help themselves and start to make that same pejorative against a wide swath of the electorate.
Indeed, I think it is going to turn out just the same as Hillary’s “Deplorables and irredeemables” – it may turn out to be more of a rally point as the Dems continue to show the wider swath of white voters that they aren’t welcome in the Democrat identity group totem pole / tent.
So, go ahead and keep insulting everyone – PLEASE!
