GOP – deliberately made promises it had no intention of keeping

“I didn’t expect Donald Trump to win. I think most of my colleagues didn’t. So we didn’t expect to be in this situation.”

That was US Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA) a couple of weeks ago at a town hall committing a gaffe – inadvertently admitting to a truth that none in the GOP elite (and make no mistake, Congress is an elite place) wanted to say concerning repealing Obamacare.  I could be kind as leave it as the dog caught the car.  No, that’s too good for them; they just exposed themselves as to who they really are – no better than the old scraggly bewhiskered guy at the bus station in an old stained trenchcoat with a leer on his face.  Yup, the old “you can trust us – we’re not like the others” schtick has lost its appeal and dignity.  They conned us all – Please, may we have the House?  Please, the Senate would make all things better?  We’re just DYING to have the Oval Office – and THEN think of what we can do for you!

Well, at least Trump kept his promise when he ante’d up Gorsuch and at this point, Gorsuch is filling the role.  And take away the bluster, the illogical verbiage, the Tweets, and a few missteps here and there and ONLY concentrate on his achieved results (that is, what a President can do on his own), Trump is delivering (and no, I’m not agreeing on everything but for the stuff *I’M* counting on), he’s delivered quite a bit of good conservative policy.

Congress?  Not so much as a whole – last time I looked, the House passed about 250 bills and resolutions.  The Senate? 25.  Period.  At least they put Gorsuch through.  Hoping they do the same with the lower courts with people like him. But back to repeal.

It is CLEAR that they both have lied to us and are as spineless as they come.  Now that the spotlight is on them, they’re scurrying away like the proverbial NYC rats and cockroaches that can’t stand to have the Klieg lights turn upon them.  Fifty, sixty times they vote unanimously to repeal Obamacare.  And now when it is 4th and inches to the goal with 1 second left, two outs in the bottom of the ninth, when there’s 5 yards left in a 1500 yard swim race, when you only need to score one more kick in a TKD tourney, or one more subroutine / method to write, two questions left in your oral dissertation to take….you get the idea.  WHEN YOU’VE REACHED THE END OF THE RACE, what do CHAMPIONS do?

Sorry, the GOP has no answers – for they have no backbone nor a political creed to follow.  The former goes without saying but the latter they actually have – they are like the Episcopal Church in that they don’t believe it or in it.  There’s only one thing they do believe in and that’s keeping their asses in those high paying seats at our expense (in more ways than one).

Nopers – they’ve been caught like the toddler who manages to cobble up a ladder by using boxes, toys, blankies, and chairs to get up to the kitchen counter where both the cookie jar and his hand is – and now is trying to blame poor Fido when his parents walk in.

They are showing us who they are with their squabbling amongst each other – and ignoring us.  We who brung them to the dance.  We gave them what they wanted – and it still isn’t enough.  Like I said, we’ve been conned into giving them something they really don’t deserve – a title.  A seat.  And the power to do what they said they would.

Winning is only the precursor – it’s what you do afterwards, though, that is most important.

Nope, they haven’t learned that lesson and nor do they seem inclined to bother.  They got what they wanted – it doesn’t matter what they told us.

Worst of all, THEY USED US.  Now to me, the worst thing you can do to me is to deliberately and with malice aforethought, is LIE to me.  Co-equal with that is showing me that you have USED me.  I don’t kindly cotton to that much – just ask Frank Guinta.  Or some other politicians that have done the same.

You’ve now shown yourselves to be no better than the Democrats.  Like them, you have shown us that you believe in Big Government, you believe in more taxation, you do believe that simply because you got more votes than the other guy, you believe you should be in charge making our decisions.

Your Obamacare actions, by not getting rid of the taxes, by not getting rid of the mandates, by not getting rid of the regulations, by not stopping the IRS to be your healthcare police, you’ve shown us you are endorsing what the Democrats have done to us and rejecting what the Founders intended – that we were to be a nation of individual Liberty and not like the European (and later, the world) countries they had left.  We were to be sovereign to ourselves and to God and not to a monarchy / aristocracy.  The Progressives are working hard to repeal that and in this, you have joined them.

And on this, I also add Trump – for what has his HHS Secretary Tom Price done?  You all have promised this to be a three phase process – but we’ve seen nothing in Phase 1 (the House bill was nothing to write home about but even with a slightly better (e.g., one step up from awful as far as keeping your promise), so why should I have faith that Price’s Phase 2 in which he rolls back the “The Secretary shall…” bits will do anything.  After all, YOU, YOU GOPe, should have already had plans in place to kill at least a few of them, starting with the HHS mandate over Contraceptives.  You haven’t given us a dang thing in a good faith offer.

Don’t get me even started on Phase 3 which loops back to Congress taking the rest of it out.  Given the performance so far, I don’t expect to see anything beyond a 1 or a 2 out of 100.

Yep, the Stupid Party and the Jr. Partners of the Welfare State.  Too stupid to plan ahead or, worse, you actually like that we all must be on bended knee forking over trillions of future dollars so that you can fulfill Alinsky’s struggle to “take from the Have’s and give to the Have-Nots”.  That you now are pseudo-socialists all where you are perfectly satisfied to take from those with ability to give it to those in need (and in doing so, cutting out Christian Charity out from underneath us).  Everything in the State, of the State, and nothing outside of the State.  Or Congress, if you will (and you certainly do the “will” part pretty well lately).

No, these last six months have shown us that you are lockstep in changing what American Exceptionalism – you are showing us that you can’t leave that Socialist philosophy behind that requires that the State must DO for us – turning the Founders’ philosophy upside down.

No, that’s not right – you’re rendering it in two.  You have fallen into line with FDR’s Second Bill of Rights – that just like every other government in the world, it MUST be responsible for us instead of us for ourselves.

But you can’t stand the heat of the Democrats, you can’t stand the lights and cameras of the media – both of which hate you anyways.  However, that lesson you still haven’t learned – you think this is mere politics. You’re wrong.  It’s war without guns (so far but I certainly can’t tell that to the GOPers that were at that ballfield a month ago).

And I, for one, will no longer back you up, you cowards.  Most of us are willing to support bravery even if in a losing cause.  You can’t even get off your butts.  We gave you what you wanted and what do you do now?  You WHINE that a parliamentarian says the Senate rules stop you from writing the bill you want and that your Senate rules require 60 votes – and we don’t have enough.

Enough already!  I have no intention of sending one more GOPer your way – for it’s always one more excuse to put out there while you go hid in your coatroom and snicker “hey, we put another one over on those rubes”.  Screw you all.  Consider us the “vote donors”; no more “investments” until you show us you can do the job.

Which right now, you’re failing.

You’ve made your bed, so go lie in the muck.  “Being neither hot nor cold, I will spew you out of my mouth sayeth the Lord”.  Such as you have become (with few exceptions).  You made a promise that we now see that, when it really counts and not those faux votes of the last eight years, you never wanted to deliver on.  Simply a ruse.

It has shown us that the GOP is worthless.  Remember this: YOU LIE!

Hurled at Obama – we now hurl it at you.
