Kathy Griffin – More than Consequence; the perfect attitude and outlook of Progressives

“After all, only intentions count and Kathy Griffin had one and only one intention – hurt Donald Trump by any means possible.  Including targeting his 11 year old son”

Kathy Griffin - brokenRemember, Progressives crave power and when they don’t have it, they will do pretty much anything to regain it.  Anything.

Free Speech means you get to say or express yourself any way you want.  Whether it is nice, intelligent, amusing, nasty, dirty, hateful or stupid, you can speak, write, act, video, or photograph what you will.  However, as I have said before, I don’t have to listen or watch.  I also get a “vote” on what you say.  And LOTS of people are now using their First Amendment Right to discuss what Kathy Griffin did – and how she has reacted to our responses.

Steve has one reaction here; my quick take is a bit different. She is the perfect embodiment of the Left in that:

  • nothing is out of bounds anymore for THEM,
  • any tactic is ok for THEM,
  • targeting anyone of any age is ok for THEM,
  • the means justifies the end for THEM,
  • when caught it is society’s fault
  • blame others for your actions
  • make your apology a non-apology

After all, only intentions count and Kathy Griffin had one and only one intention – hurt Donald Trump by any means possible. This was deliberate – she had already said she was going to target his 11 year old son:

“So I’m happy to deliver beat down to Donald Trump — and also to Barron. You know a lot of comics are going to go hard for Donald, my edge is that I’ll go direct for Barron. I’m going to get in ahead of the game.” (link)

And reports are that he panicked and screamed.  Congrats – mission accomplished, right Kathy?

Cue the faux outrage – and she did plenty of that.  No, this was deliberate – what else can be worse than seeing your Dad dead on TV (a decapitated head) for a young child?  She though she was being edgy and hip (at 56?  Really?).  Sorry, once again we see Progressives twisting and tearing the fabric of our common language – this was just disgusting.  If it wasn’t for the overall response from regular folks, I’m betting that most Progressives would just go “not cool” and just move on (like Behar of The View gave a pass to Bill Maher for his “house <N-word>” comment when talking with US Senator Sasse).  I’m betting that she thought she’d get accolades instead of a “beat down”.

So let’s swing back to one of the main Progressive mantras: “It’s for the children!”.  Well, Griffin just committed a gaffe – it’s just a weaponized phrase to shut down debate. It is really a dodge – a political tool only to achieve a designated agenda item.  And as Griffin just showed us, if attacking a child of your enemy accomplishes that, so be it.

Remember this the next time a conservative says ANYTHING about a Leftward pol or celebrity.

What’s worse (or better for us) was her press conference after the photo came out and her online “apology” (which was just PR defense ) which she herself completely destroyed during the presser.  But then again, say anything rears its head.

Here’s a partial from that presser – a bit of a fisking:

KATHY GRIFFIN, STAND-UP COMEDIAN: Imagine that I participated in. That apology absolutely stands.

Well, at least for a few more seconds.

I feel horrible. I have performed in war zones, the idea that that people think of this tragedy, have been touched by this tragedy is horrifying and it’s horrible.

That you got caught? And what’s up with that war zone bit – that you are a “brave” person?  And get this next bit.  First, start with complete “sorrow”

Thrust (sic) me, if I could redo the whole thing, I would’ve had a blowup doll and no catch up.

And then the continuing of the remorse:

But I’m not going to stop. I’m going to make fun of the President and, you know, what, I’m going to make fun of him more now, more.

Sorry, but that’s not feeling “horrible”.  What it IS is a perfect window into the soul of a Progressive.  I screwed up, I’m apolo…no, no, I’m not.  Not in any fashion that a Conservative would understand – or believe.  But the blame game?  Yeah, we see that all the time:

I’m not afraid of Donald Trump, he’s a bully. I’ve dealt with older white guys trying to keep me down my whole life, my whole career. I just wanted to say, you know, if you don’t stand up, you get run over. And what’s happening to me has never happened ever in the history of this great country. Which is that a sitting president of the United States and his grown children and the First Lady are personally I feel personally trying to ruin my life forever.

I would have to say that seeing a has been D-lister holding a replica of the President’s head has never happened ever in the history of this great country (see what she tried to do there?).  What did she expect – Trump and his family would just smile, nod their heads, politely, go “tsk, tsk” and let you off the hook?  You punched – they punched back.  Hard.

WHAT DID YOU EXPECT, YOU HARRIDAN??  YOU ATTACKED A KID THROUGH HIS DAD. Did you really think you were going to get a pass?

This is America, and you shouldn’t have to die for it. The death threats that I’m getting are constant and they are detailed and they are serious and they are specific.

Yep.  Consequences.  I’ve been listening this kind of thing from the LEFT for a long tie.  Congrats, the Left has finally budged off its Marquis of Queensberry hangup.  No, I’m not advocating violence ever but did she really expect that the reaction would be all cake and ice cream?

And then she goes even FURTHER on the victimhood.  It wasn’t enough to make the lame attempt with Trump ruining her career but now

And today it’s me, and tomorrow it could be you. I don’t think I will have a career after this. I think he — I’m going to be honest, he broke me. And then I was like, no, this isn’t right, it’s just not right. There’s a bunch of old white guys trying to silence me and I’m just here to say that’s wrong.

No, it could NEVER be me – or almost everyone I know.  No, because NO ONE I KNOW WOULD DO SOMETHING THIS STUPID AND DUMB.  A first grader would know better.  So no, trying the collective guilt isn’t going to work.  At all.  No use trying to rope all of us into your self-created purgatory (except I think you’re headed way down into Dante’s lowest ring of the Inferno).

Love her pulling the race / ageism card, too.  Hey toots, you’re an old white woman (see picture, above) – SO WHAT?  Hey, I doubt they are – you’re losing your gigs because your attempt to be Colin Kaepernick turned out to be as good as his.  Remember, you have the freedom to speak – we all have the freedom to walk away.

Wrong?  Wrong that people have taken great offense?  Wrong that your reputation (such as it was) has evaporated?  Wrong that you KNOWINGLY crossed a line that your feet should never have come close to?  Wrong?  Talk to Brendan Eich about “wrong”.

The lack of any sense of self-awareness is utterly stupendous on her part.  Wrong?  It is clear you didn’t think it was wrong at all.  You made your intentions known a year ago.  You planned out what you were going to do.  You bought the materials.  You PAID someone to photograph you and the head.

But being a Progressive, as Kathy Griffin just showed us, you can say you’re sorry, but really never meaning it. Victim?  Only in your own mind.

Buh-bye.
