Remember Victims of Communism Day, May Day 2017

Today is May Day or what should be Remember the Victims of Communism Day.

From The Washington Post:

May Day began as a holiday for socialists and labor union activists, not just communists. But over time, the date was taken over by the Soviet Union and other communist regimes and used as a propaganda tool to prop up their [authority]. I suggest that we instead use it as a day to commemorate those regimes’ millions of victims. The authoritative Black Book of Communism estimates the total at 80 to 100 million dead, greater than that caused by all other twentieth century tyrannies combined. We appropriately have a Holocaust Memorial Day. It is equally appropriate to commemorate the victims of the twentieth century’s other great totalitarian tyranny. And May Day is the most fitting day to do so….

The number above according to Death by Government is a little low. That statistical reference puts the number at 106 million with Stalin and Mao leading the list of contributors that also include Lenin, Pol Pot, and Tito–Communists all. You can hear people defending Communism today–which is an alarming display of ignorance.  They say stuff like, “Hey, man, how about the 8 hour work day, dude?” knowing not a whit about forced starvation, forced organ harvesting, liquidating the Kulaks, or the 106 million other crimes. It’s a shame.

But I’m here to help. Today, I found this page that assemble a list of ten films to honor the dead on this day of remembrance. Some on the list are trailers others are entire films. I urge the Communists, ignorant and otherwise, and their apologists to watch each one. See the whole truth, not just the rosy propaganda which elides the cruel, heinous, evil that courses through the veins of that horrific ideology. See the beast as it is.
