The tricky thing about separating church and state is that the state is a kind of church.
For Progressives, The State IS their religion and their God. Where else do you think the phrase “every dollar is sacred” when discussion comes up about cutting the budget? For them, it’s like taking money out of the plate – such sacrilege!
(heh! I doubt many Progressives would even “get” the plate meme above – kinda reinforces the point)
