Heh! About that bill to implement single payer healthcare in California?

Ah yes – a false “right” for all to demand that others pay for their “faux” healthcare right.  Sorry, this isn’t a “right” – it is an ideological milestone for Socialists / Big Government / Collectivists.  You know – Democrats.  Turns out, however, that this “right” that the Dems, who have  super-majorities in California will have a price in trying to cover everyone INCLUDING illegal aliens.  Like Tennessee, Kentucky, Hawaii tried before them (and we blogged about those efforts years ago) and Vermont and Colorado just rejected because of cost; it will be a STAGGERING COST:

SHOT:  Current California budget: $180 Billion

CHASER: CaliforniaCare budget: $400 Billion

And they can’t even fund their high speed choo-choo train at $40 Billion and want the Feds to pay for it? And that was at its inception; current pricing is now 50% higher just a few years down the line.

No, that’s not just raising another $200B from taxpayers that are already the most fleeced in the nation – that’s just for the single payer healthcare system.  All other State activities and services extra. Colorado looked at the increases and the taxes needed to support it – their ballot referendum went down in flames.  Vermont had similar issues – it would have DOUBLED their budget and sent taxes skyrocketing.

Sorta like Medicaid Expansion – like the lad once said, free healthcare will be the most expensive EVAH!  And if you are kicking about the insurance companies now, go ahead and try fighting the “healthcare DMV”; be prepared to see rationing based on your time.

But then again, California is known for being the “nuts and fruits” State and with good reason – this seals the deal on that monniker.  I’ll be honest – they are already on shaky financial grounds and have one of the most, if not THE most, high earner income taxes in the nation and a lot of others. Who will be left turn turn out the last light bulb – that is only lit because they’re in the process of chasing out all but renewables.

Yet, the Progressive Democrats & Socialists (but I repeat myself) still want it at a national level. That’s one thing that rings true with them (and Progressive Republicans) – they just can’t learn from history’s mistake mostly because of 1) their hubris, and 2) they can’t SEE previous mistakes and learn from them.

Hangover:  “Doctors and hospitals would no longer need to negotiate rates and deal with insurance companies to seek reimbursement,” Lara said.

No, they won’t have to haggle with insurance companies.  Instead, they’ll have to take what the government says to.  Remember, this is the State that was sending out investigators to make sure that doctors were taking “their fair share” of patients when “narrow networks” were limiting who could see whom.  And may I remind you to look for that sign that says “We are not taking more Medicaid patients at this time”.  California will be similar signs.

Or, if I’m right, no signs at all as docs and others move to more favorable States in which to practice.

Yeah, this certainly has “success” written all over it, doesn’t it (/sarc)?
