“NOW You’re Worried About Executive Power? “

Recently, many left-leaning people have become (randomly) concerned about reigning in executive power, a mass event not seen since the beginning years of the Bush presidency. This concern manifests itself in suddenly questioning the ability of the president to unilaterally order military action, including drone strikes, air strikes, special forces, etc. It also comes across as questioning whether just maybe executive actions aren’t the best way to govern with impunity, or that lists like the No-Fly List and programs like the NSA’s PRISM could potentially be bad when leaders who aren’t Barack Obama are President.

Frankly, NO President should have this much power.  It is the stupidity of Congress that has voluntarily given up much of its power (and the inability to use its greatest power, the Power of the Purse) to the Executive Branch that has made the President almost untouchable as we saw the last eight years and saw the weaponization of the Administrative / Deep State lay down rubber in heading towards that Progressive end line of the technocratic State.

The question is, are Progressives and the Left in general, really willing to cut the size of Government to make that happen?

Doubtful.  Doubtful, too, that even Republicans will do that.  Unless they are the US and NH House Freedom Caucuses.  After all, who else is really willing to cut the size of the budget and are willing to stick their political necks on the line.  Yet, they are the bad ones simply for standing for smaller and less intrusive Government.

Why?
