Jessica Chastain: you have to give us free stuff – it’s for our RIGHTS!

Right to affordable Birth ControlAhem, may I point out that women have received “free stuff” for centuries?  May I also point out that “Rights” have nothing to do with material means unless you are of the Socialist persuasion and have no idea of the difference between an entitlement and a true Right?

Actually, the title of the piece at Big Hollywood is:

Jessica Chastain: Women’s Rights Will ‘Head Backward’ Without Free Birth Control from Planned Parenthood

Actress Jessica Chastain says she obtained her first birth control pills at Planned Parenthood and fears low-income women will be unable to obtain contraception if the abortion business is defunded.

Hmm, how about another local “womens’ health clinic”?  Failing that, most every school (even down through middle schools nowadays and I think I’ve seen something about elementary school as well.  Hey, they’d share under the “Sharing is Caring” mantra, right?) has condoms or birth control pills on hand (or, on the nurse’s desk in a big plastic jar).  Or your local pharmacy – Walmart brand at $10/month. PP is not the only point of acquisition here, ma’am. Condoms are also cheap.

Again, an entitlement is something you get because someone else is forced to give or provide it to you.  A Right stands on its own simply because you are human.  I have the Right to Free Speech – it costs you nothing and in fact, you don’t even have to listen to me when I exercise my Right.  NONE of your Rights are affected if the Federal Govt no longer funds Planned Parenthood (aka, birth control after the fact).  Nothing is being taken away if PP has to turn to the private sector for funding and given the number of “stars” that are donating, does PP even need it?

How about this idea – that PP should divest itself of its abortion biz and just do “womens healthcare” like all of the other clinics that specialize in WH, which outnumber PP 20 to 1, but don’t do abortions?

However, in that highly compensated and Progressive stratified atmosphere in Hollywood, these basic facts get in the way of the Narrative of the war on wymin. But like the Holy Transmogrification of illegal aliens to just plain “immigrants”, the Left has no problem in bending the language.  Or in the case of this actress, continuing the fantasy even off her stage.

Chastain, one of Variety’s 2017 “Power of Women New York” honorees, told the entertainment industry publication that Planned Parenthood is “where I got my birth control pills. That’s where I learned about sex education. It was a very important place to me.”

Yeah, it’s almost like church, huh?  There certainly is an altar in there, although not quite the Mayan kind but the result is the same.  This next part galls me, though:

The Oscar-nominated actress adds the women in her family all had children when they were teens themselves because of a lack of access to birth control pills. “I’m the first woman in my family not to have a child as a teenager,” she explains. “I’m the first one to go to college.”

“When my grandmother was younger, she didn’t have access to birth control or sex education,” Chastain adds. “My mom, the same thing. It’s very important in our society to protect women who financially don’t have the means to pay for healthcare, and Planned Parenthood does that.”

OK, The Pill was FDA approved in 1960. Chastain was born in 1977 so her parents are my age so I can tell you that it was available for her mom.  And there were other b.c. means as well.  But there seems to be a very serious lack, by her own admission, of “No!” ability on the female side of her family and questions of self-control.  After all, contra to what the Left wants us to believe, we should be in control of both our emotions and urges – at least if one is an adult.

But what galls me the most is that this rich gal won’t get up and do the hard work herself, create a charity, ask her other rich Hollywood friends to pitch in, and do something herself about it instead of the throw away line of “Somebody in Govt has to fix this problem I see”.  Never read de Tocqueville, I see.

And dontcha just love this “backwards” crap from the Left all the time?

“I’m absolutely worried that if we don’t support Planned Parenthood and healthcare for women, we’ll head backward,” says Chastain. “I guess I’m not surprised by the war on women’s healthcare. I think it’s something I’ve seen for the majority of my life.”

And stop with the conflation of federally funded baby killings (i.e.g, abortion) and “healthcare”.  The latter prolongs life, the former ends it for innocent human beings.  There’s no “war” there – no one has a Right to other peoples’ money to kill babies – and it shouldn’t be an entitlement, either.

…Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the U.S., performing at least 300,000 abortions every year, and receiving at least $550 million in taxpayer funding annually.

,,,A recent Marist poll found that 61 percent of Americans oppose taxpayer funding of abortion, including 40 percent of those who say they are “pro-choice,” and 41 percent of Democrats.
