Quick Thought – Boy, have the Republicans screwed up “Repeal and Replace” – Part 2, The Debacle

No vote today and not vote tonite on RyanCare, thus a few of the headlines du jour.  All because of having a bad assumption (or assumptions) as to what was minimally possible to pass and NOT DOING YOUR HOMEWORK!!!:

Chaos Inside GOP House Conference Forces Speaker Ryan to Cancel Thursday’s RyanCare Vote

…The HFC members accept that the RyanCare bill is not the repeal-and-replace of the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that created Obamacare, but they insist that the speaker’s Obamacare rescue bill eliminate the Essential Health Benefits provision that requires a minimum of services in insurance policies, and they want to eliminate the Individual Mandate that RyanCare preserves as a program managed by the insurance companies, not the IRS.

If you aren’t going to rip out the guts of Obamacare, you aren’t repealing Obamacare.  Otherwise Ryan is running a scam on both his Members and we who put the Rs in charge.

Health Care Vote Canceled After GOP Leaders Fail to Win Support.

House Republican leaders abruptly postponed a planned vote on the GOP health care bill Thursday as they struggled to find sufficient support to pass it.

Yeah, well, you blew it when your members won’t accept your crapola. Aren’t you listening?

How Health-Care Policy Divides the Republican Coalition

Granted, the MSM is having a field day excoriating the Republicans of all types but the above are from conservative sites who would like to see them succeed.  It seems to me, however, that the Rs are proving the line “the Stupid Party” – it’s not like each of the factions’ bottom lines haven’t been known for years over this.  And now the slap-dash Rube Goldberg mish-mash of a slobberish load of legislation has just fallen in on itself.

So what to do?  I like this from DaTechGuy:

The net result of full repeal would be to allow the consumer-driven market to push competition and force insurance companies to compete. It amuses me when people say, “But repeal will only make the health insurance executives richer!” As Trump would say… “Wrong!” They love having millions of Americans who would never willingly purchase health insurance being forced to by it by their government overlords.

Get government out of health insurance and premiums will go down for a vast majority of Americans. Allow the free market economy and the crowdfunding power of 2017 (plus charities, family, and community) to help those who need it the most. Government’s only role should be as the absolute last resort. Just repeal it.

Just repeal it.  Get out of the way.  After all, it was the US Govt that started this by allowing tax free benefits in the first place because of the wage controls they had put on all industries (e.g. WW II).  Benefits used to be “extras” and then the Progressives, once again, acted true to form and decided that Government HAD to get involved and be in charge – and here we are with the Democrats single-handedly nationalized what used to be a free marketplace (at least in the beginning).

Just repeal it.  Get out of the way.  Let me say, to the horror of Progressives everywhere, “and stay out of it”.  Let ME, an adult, figure out what *I* need and allow me to put all of suppliers earn my business no matter where they are located.  If I make a mistake, so what?  That’s what choice means, what Freedom is defined as.  Life IS risk – just leave me alone.
