Zandra Rice-Hawkins: Master purveyor of FUD towards the Second Amendment

FUD – Fear, uncertainty, and doubt.  Coming from Zandra Rice-Hawkins (our favorite cereal, Rice-Crispies) of Granite State Progress (a totally out of state funded entity), I tend to more call it lying.  She hates guns because this Statist loves Government – and it is clear from her history, as we all have said before, she believes that only Government should have such Force and it should be a monopoly.

Just like the Redcoats at the time of our Revolutionary War – it was their attempt to disarm the general populace that very well that was the spark that created The Shot Heard ‘Round The World.  I’m quite sure she’d have been a Royalist – she certains seems to be against Individual Liberty (except when it can advance the Progressive social and political  agenda.

So what was it that she said (again, reformatted and emphasis mine)?  Here’s the windup:

Zandra Rice-Hawkins, executive director at Granite State Progress, said one big concern is the lack of safeguards in the measure now awaiting the signature of Gov. Chris Sununu. “It’s important to note that other states that have permit-less carry also have other laws in place, such as firearms training requirements, or restrictions on where concealed-carry is allowed,” Rice-Hawkins said. “But New Hampshire has none of those public safety measures.”

She can’t even call it what it is – Constitutional Carry.  The full-fledged ability to totally exercise our right to keep and bear arms in any form that a law abiding individual wishes to use be it open or concealed.

In other words, she’s all about the “Mommy, may I?” as if we are all children that don’t know what to do. And she’s all about pulling in restrictions from other States in putting up barriers.  Let’s see, how about another example – does Vermont have any such restrictions, and do they have any gun problems as Rice-Crispies alludes to?

Nope (the school ban is Federal)

But her crie du cour is not about, you know, Public Safety. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.  Heavens forbid – she’s down with allowing the bad guys to have guns (because they aren’t going to follow ANY law anyways that they don’t want to) but we law abiding citizens?  In her mind, EVERYONE should always have to get permission from the Nanny State in order to exercise a Constitutional Right.  That’s what Statists / Big Government rumpswabs do and that’s what they are.  After all, we are too stupid to be able to do normal things that law abiding citizens should be able to do.

Sununu has said he intends to sign the measure, but grassroots efforts are under way to try to get him to reconsider that position.

Individuals who have a track record of violence will now be able to legally concealed-carry,” Rice Hawkins said. “It’s a public safety measure. And that’s why we need everyone to call Gov. Sununu and urge him to stand on the side of public safety and veto SB-12.”

OK, if you are violent, you’ve already had a run-in with law enforcement and the Justice system.  Domestic violence (or mere allegations of such in some places)?  Assault and/or Battery?  Felony time, folks – which automatically punches your ticket out from possessing a gun.  In fact there are a myriad of ways to become a “prohibited person” with respect to guns.

But does Zandra come out and SAY that?  Does she actually tell you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?

<Snicker> Of course not, she’s a propagandizing Progressive.  She makes the intimation that ANYONE will now be able to concealed carry. Only the law abiding go through the NICS process when purchasing a new gun – you think criminals and “violent people” are willing to do that?

Nope.

She just delights in smearing and insult us all.  I’ve purchased my guns lawfully and underwent additional investigation to get my NH Pistol / Revolver license, and then an even more intense one when I purchased an NFA device. Because that’s what law abiding people do.

Note: I have posted the entire article and rolled my eyes when I got to the end.  Go ahead, figure out why (answer at the end)

CONCORD, N.H. — A change in gun laws is close to taking effect in New Hampshire, and many police chiefs are concerned about its impact on local police officers.

The National Rifle Association has called it an important piece of legislation that will allow Granite Staters to carry firearms in the manner that best suits their needs.

But that position does not sit well with Pat Sullivan, executive director of the New Hampshire Police Chiefs Association. He said he and most of the members of his association support Second Amendment rights, but they are concerned because the pending measure does not include a training requirement.

“Our concern is, at this point, we’ll be having officers walking up to cars with everyone with a gun,” Sullivan said. “And it just ramps up the watchfulness and caution that we have to use now when dealing with the public.”

Last week, the House of Representatives voted 200-97 to pass Senate Bill 12, which already passed the state Senate. Among those opposing the change is the New Hampshire chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense, which is part of Everytown.

Sununu has said he intends to sign the measure, but grassroots efforts are under way to try to get him to reconsider that position.

“Individuals who have a track record of violence will now be able to legally concealed-carry,” Rice Hawkins said. “It’s a public safety measure. And that’s why we need everyone to call Gov. Sununu and urge him to stand on the side of public safety and veto SB-12.”

OK, did you see it?  Or rather, NOT see it?

Ayup.  Two people were quoted in the article.  NEITHER of them are pro-carry.  Last time I looked, NEWS is supposed to be balanced showing both the pro and the con side of an issue.  Here, it was 2-0 for the anti-gunners.

Which, pretty much, just makes it propaganda itself.  How apropos that Rice-Hawkins is in it.
