Well of course he’s an “existential threat” – he’s for less government

Heh!

European Council President Donald Tusk called US President Donald Trump an ‘existential threat’ to Europe Tuesday.

Tusk wrote an open letter to the leaders of 27 Council member states, in which he listed the US President as a “threat” to the European Union alongside China, Russia, radical Islam, war, and terrorism.  Tusk cited “worrying declarations by the new American administration” as the basis for his including President Trump with other threats to the EU. He said that the threats “make our future highly unpredictable.”

The EU leadership and bureaucrats have one thing in mind – to move the nation-states of Europe into being the United States of Europe but without the democratic elements and separation of powers that we have here in the US.  Instead, they are all about what the US Progressives/Socialists actually desire – an unelected, basically unaccountable, technocratic elite that are destined to rule because, well, they know better than the rest of us.  In this, they are no different, be they European or American, than the feudal society that ruled Europe up until the 1900s.  In fact, most of the European immigrants (legal, dontcha know) left their home countries BECAUSE of the lack of freedom and opportunities due to the weight of those governments.  Yet, even with that fact, Obama near turned us into that and Hillary would have probably finished us off.

And then the black swan that was named Trump swooped in and spoiled it all (thankfully).  In each of his actions, to which almost no Conservative can quibble about on policy (although on presentation, sure), it is to devolve power from government back to the Individual American Citizen (just one example was his first E.O. on Obamacare that was to relax the ever tightening regulatory noose around our necks).

THIS is what Tusk is rightly afraid of.  There’s already Brexit, Greece is at it again, Italy is mummering, and if Marine Le Pen wins in France, it may be game over.  Trump is the existential threat BECAUSE he is not acting like them.  He is not glorifying in what Government will tell its citizens how to behave, act, or think.  His E.O.s and his Contract with America are being delivered and being delivered quickly and to the heart of the Regulatory / Administrative State.  He is NOT a typical politician and he sure is NOT the typical President – he is oriented not on process but on results to achieve, gulp, Conservative ideals.

Yes, I just said that.  He’s doing more in two weeks than a lot of Republican Presidents have done in their first term.  And he’s putting Congress to shame.

Sidenote: although I have to give the Congress props – when the Dems started to go all Wisconsin (e.g., the Dems that ran out of the state so as to avoid / slow voting down) – they just steamrolled over the Dems by changing their committee rules to pass on Trump’s Cabinet nominees through to entire Senate votes.  Color me REALLY surprised that they actually got a spine for once!

Sure, the pause from travel from the 7 failed states in the Middle East was not well implemented but if nothing else, Trump and his staff will learn from that botched attempt.

Sidenote: Yet, most Americans not of the hard Left, agree with the concept if not all that hep with that implementation (which, the Trump Administration either has or is in the process of rectifying).

And Tusk and his Socialist / Communitarianistic bros may have to find employment in the dreaded private sector if Trump’s burnishing of the Bright City on the Hill’s lamps start to shine much more brightly than theirs.
