50 Million Climate Refugees by 2010

Fifty million climate refugees by 2010. Today we find a world of asymmetric development, unsustainable natural resource use, and continued rural and urban poverty. There is general agreement about the current global environmental and development crisis. It is also known that the consequences of these global changes have the most devastating impacts on the poorest, who historically have had limited entitlements and opportunities for growth.

Yes, another Catastrophic Climate Cult prediction (CCCP) that failed to deliver. So what happened next?

The UN made the original page, attributions, and the supposed 50 million climate refugees disappear in 2010 when the number because by 2010 the actual number of climate refugees somewhere in the neighborhood of zero. But you know the adage, never let a good narrative go to waste. By 2011 it resurfaced with the adjusted date of 2020.

You will not have failed to notice that 2020 is fast approaching and we still show no evidence of climagration (a real term now) from any of the hot spots fingered by the UN. (Unless you count people moving to the dangerous places with the tropical weather, high-end hotel chains, shore loving liberal jet-setters, and the affable natives.

But I’m not sure we can call that climagration in its true sandwich-board wearing street corner end-of-the-world-is-nigh we need another trillion to fix the weather intent.

The rent seekers running the coral atolls lining their pockets at the expense of tourists paying $1,200.00/night for the package deal are still hungry for more.

I do not envy them, wrapped so tightly in their sweet smelling bulls**t.

It’s tough to balance the urgency alarmism demands against the reality that nothing they try to scare us with has ever happened. But like any confidence scam as long as someone keeps rewarding them with money or attention they’ll keep milking it.
