Peace Prize Winner Obama Just Ended 49 Years of “Peace” in the Middle East

map-of-israelThe Jerusalem Post has a great article on what it views as the machinations of Obama against Isreal, through the U.N. You should read the whole thing, but I wanted to share this tiny bit because it contrasts nicely against the murky silhouette of Nobel Peace Prize Obama. (Formatting changes, mine)

UN Security Council Resolution 2334 was the first prong of outgoing President Barack Obama’s lame duck campaign against Israel. US Secretary of State John Kerry’s speech on Wednesday was the second.

On January 15, stage 3 will commence in Paris. At France’s lame duck President François Hollande’s international conference, the foreign ministers of some 50 states are expected to adopt as their own Kerry’s anti-Israel principles.

The next day it will be Obama’s turn. Obama can be expected to use the occasion of Martin Luther King Jr. Day to present the Palestinian war to annihilate Israel as a natural progression from the American Civil Rights movement that King led 50 years ago.

Finally, sometime between January 17 and 19, Obama intends for the Security Council to reconvene and follow the gang at the Paris conference by adopting Kerry’s positions as a Security Council resolution. That follow-on resolution may also recognize “Palestine” and grant it full membership in the UN.

There’s plenty more detail, but it all leads to this.

Given that Israel has no right to hold territory under (UN Resolution) 2334, it naturally follows that the Palestinians have no incentive to give Israel peace. So they won’t. The peace process, like the two-state solution, ended last Friday night to the raucous applause of all Security Council members.

Resolution 2334 invalidates Resolution 242, which established the framework for building peace after the 1967 War. Put simply, Obama and Kerry via the U.N. Security Council didn’t just foster a global impetus to boycott Israel – which will have the BDS folks in a gleeful tizzy – it invalidates anything but a one state solution.

If there is to be only one, then another war in the Middle East is inevitable with Israel fighting on several fronts. And don’t be surprised if it becomes necessary to take more territory, including retaking the Gaza Strip to stop rocket attacks, weapons, or other direct military action from that quarter.

So what about Trump and the UN?

If President Trump ever needed another reason to kick the UN to the curb and off our continent entirely, this might be it. Whether he can get Congress to go along is another matter.

Regardless of what happens with the U.N., I expect him to side with Israel in any combination of circumstances including providing material or financial support as well as fiscal and diplomatic pressure against opponents where and when he feels it is necessary.

Does Obama have a long game here, and not just with Israel?

I am not against a line of thinking where this is a deliberate effort by Obama and Democrats to hobble Trump with a regional war that only ever hampers Republican Administrations.  Obama has, after all, made a total mess of the Middle East and were not the media his harem of bitches everyone in America would know that we are up to our elbows in war on at least three fronts, and much worse off now than we were when he took office.

But Obama isn’t going away. He’ll be the face and mouth of the anti-Trump movement. We may hear even more from Barry out of office than in if you can even imagine that.

Trump, for his part, seems to have a way of making these things work to his advantage, at least on the public relations side. He’s picked good leaders so far. Put that together and Obama may find he’s on the wrong side of everything which is where he put himself and where he belongs with that shiny Nobel Prize for Peace he neither earned nor ever deserved.
