Meet The Press – US Senator Diane Feinstein goes extra-Constitutional on Prez duties

Meet The Press

“…he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed

Diane FeinsteinAs always, I try to struggle to watch the Sunday talking head shows as there are sometimes some decent nuggets to be heard (remember, most of the people on here are Progressives and Liberals – I listen to see how they actually think).  In one of the middle segments, Chuck Todd is talking with US Diane Feinstein (D-Californistan / Mexifornia) and this popped up about the impending Inauguration of Donald Trump:

Feinstein: …and there is so much fear in this country. I come from the biggest State, get 10s of thousands of phone calls, and emails, from people that are fearful of what is going to happen.  It is the job of this new President to reassure people that he is just not the President of his base but he is the president of everyone and that means a coming together.

Notice how she slips in that false premise.  That aside, what IS the job of the President?  Most of our readers know this

already but for the casual reader who unfortunately was schooled in a government school (see here, results) here is the authority of the real job?  One hint is the top quote.  That said, the absolute authority – the US Constitution (Article II, Section 2):

The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of the several states, when called into the actual service of the United States; he may require the opinion, in writing, of the principal officer in each of the executive departments, upon any subject relating to the duties of their respective offices, and he shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.

He shall have power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, judges of the Supreme Court, and all other officers of the United States, whose appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by law: but the Congress may by law vest the appointment of such inferior officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the courts of law, or in the heads of departments.

The President shall have power to fill up all vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate, by granting commissions which shall expire at the end of their next session.

And let me toss in Section 3:

He shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the union, and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in case of disagreement between them, with respect to the time of adjournment, he may adjourn them to such time as he shall think proper; he shall receive ambassadors and other public ministers; he shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed, and shall commission all the officers of the United States.

Nowhere do I see what Feinstein impugned – that the President is NOT the President of us all.  No, Obama was certainly not my choice nor did he get my vote.  I vigorously wrote against him, not because of his skin color as many Progressive believe, but because of his Socialist / Statist policies that demanded that DC become like “the Capital” in the Hunger Games.  But not doubt he held the office of the President of the United States.

But that is what she does with the insinuation that the Dems are pushing – his term of office is not legitimate.  But it is a false deception – whether I like a person elected to that role or their office, he IS the President of the US and it works both ways on both sides of the aisle.

Now, when Todd asked her whether or not Obama actually did what she was requiring of Trump, you know what the Civilian Disarmement Agitator said and affirmed: “…Obama has played a role in doing just that!

Er, not so much starting with the Cambridge incident with the black Harvard Prof and the white cop.  And I would say that overall, Obama certainly flunked that part of the “Feinstein job requirement”, eh Diane?  By almost any measure, we are a much more divided country; by race, by socioeconomic strata, by geographical location (e.g., bi-coastal elites vs flyover folk), and ideology than ever before in my life time.
