Hypocrisy: President-Elect Trump Is Wrong

“Hypocrisy can afford to be magnificent in its promises, for never intending to go beyond promise, it costs nothing.” -Edmund Burke

President-Elect Donald J. Trump
President-Elect Donald J. Trump

The Hypocrits are talking again. President-Elect Donald J. Trump got it wrong..So say the Democrats, Neo-Conservative hacks and other less-mentioned moonbats.  These idiots are convinced in their own minds, they are right.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we as a people need only look to history for the standard-bearer of American politics and governing. After all, we elected President Trump.

We cannot overlook the fact that President-Elect Trump has broken new ground. We’ve entered uncharted territory. In the history of our Republic, the people have NEVER elected a non-politician to this higher officer of POTUS. Certainly not one as wealthy and successful as Donald Trump.

Hypocrisy of the Liberal Rich

As parents to children, (well, most of us, anyway…Snowflakes not included) we ply the standard in teaching our youths that success and failure is part of living…except of course where Donald Trump is concerned. Donald Trump will be the first one to tell you that failure is a painful lesson in life and in business…But hypocrisy lives when the talking heads in the Kool-Aid drinking media went on a never-ending diatribe about his bankruptcies. Failure for all us extracts a price sometimes paid by others. Nevertheless, the Lame Stream media deemed Trump unfit to lead.

She tells lies
She tells lies

The latest hypocrisy is the insistence by liberals and hacks that Trump divest himself of all his assets. Why? Donald Trump worked hard, persevered and found a formula for success. The statement is always predictable: “He will use his office to enrich himself.” really? Donald Trump, long before ever being President, had contracts and business that interfaced with the government. He has turned all business operations over to Donald Jr and Eric. Why should he give up that which he built and has worked and toiled after?

Then it occurred to me! One is supposed to come to a national elected position with only modest (wink, wink, nod, nod) means…and then after taking office, go about the work or personally enriching ones’ self…When in reality, the elected person should have been working for those who elected him or her.

That is where Trump got it wrong. The norm is for politicians to enrich themselves after holding office.  Trump comes with Billions and that is why everybody has his or her nickers in a twist.

Here’s another Newsflash. The majority of Congress are Millionaires. In 2014, the Center for Responsive Politics found that of the combined delegation of 534 members, more than half are millionaires. DemocRATS came in higher at a median of $1.04 Million to the Republicans $1 million even. But oh! Those rich Republicans!

Nancy Pelosi, for all her whining, is worth $100 Million. Chuck Schumer has done a bang up job hiding his wealth. Public disclosures rank him at just under $1 million.  “Tax the rich….just not my rich.”

So here we are…at a crossroad…We’ve elected a non-politican to the highest office. He comes with personal assets in the billions. He will not take a government paycheck. And what is the first thing they tell him? “You have to get rid of all your stuff.” Sounds like the antithesis of what America is all about.

XanaxEvery day I wake up I feel optimistic. Optimistic because we now have a president who, at a press conference, shows real stones. “Don’t be rude,” and, “You’re fake news.” Its refreshing, enjoyable and I am happy for it. He is breaking political rules and norms. I am grateful for that as well.  The only thing that disappoints me is some within my political sphere insist that we must, “remain civil.”  “Be above the fray.” Forget about it. The time is not now to remain silent in the face of Kool-Aid drinkers and other assorted whiners who are off the rails. Besides much of what is being said is pure comedy. Enter Rosie O’Donnell. Mental Health providers are going to experience an uptick in business.

With the way things are shaping up with Trump’s picks for his cabinet, I am assured that Trump will take the office and attempt to do what he said he would do and we’ll see Trump work hard to avoide even the appearance of conflict.

Reliably, the Fake news media will pig pile on seeking every morsel and snippet to challenge Trump. But, I think this era will be one where the credibility of the media is weighed against the stories they report. They want to be able to make the rules. And they have decided that Trump should divest himself of all that he owns. But we all know doing so won’t stop the abuse. I’m all in for Trump keeping his empire and separating himself from it during the tenure of his Presidency.
