The "NEW" Gun Nut - Granite Grok

The “NEW” Gun Nut

“Perhaps a lunatic was simply a minority of one…” -George Orwell

nuttyI don’t read the Concord Monitor. In fact, I completely avoid it ninety percent of the time.  In my humble opinion, it is a leftist rag and chucked full of worthless progressive trash. If one is ever successful of getting ten pounds of sh*t into a five-pound bag, the Monitor has nailed it. On the other hand, I cannot seem to avoid some of the seemingly useless pablum that crosses my personal news feed. Sometimes, the even the most worthless people, writing the most worthless things are instructive to us all.

On Monday, December 5, the Monitor featured a letter from one “Carla Levesque” of East Andover.  She writes,

Why I will buy a gun

“I have always opposed the carrying of guns in the community by random persons.

A person with a gun strapped on his hip is telling me loud and clear that if, in the opinion of the gun-toter, I need to be shot that person is willing to do it. What is not clear is what the gunman will consider “grounds” to shoot.

Do I hold an opposing political opinion? Look different? Live a different lifestyle? Practice a different religion? Did I cut him off in traffic? Or is this person a responsible gun owner who would only shoot as a last resort to protect the lives of himself and others? I have no way of knowing.

Because of the capture of the government by the alt-right and the spike of hate crimes, I have sadly decided to buy a gun. I urge all members of vulnerable populations to do the same.

We can no longer trust in the decency of our fellow Americans.” Carla Levesque, East Andover

Ms. Levesque, clearly,  is a long-suffering advocate of Gun Control. And now, she is going to buy a gun. (Or she thinks she is going to buy a gun) Here is what Ms. Levesque doesn’t acknowledge or perhaps know.

First, Where she states,   What is not clear is what the gunman will consider “grounds” to shoot.”  She is either misinformed, stupid, irrational, or all of the above.  First, she is misinformed. The Granite State has a body of law that determines, ergo decides when the use of deadly force is appropriate or not appropriate. New Hampshire has police, prosecutors, courts and jails ready and waiting for any person who appoints himself the single arbiter of these laws. People who carry guns never get to decide when gun use is appropriate. The law does and people carrying guns commit themselves to following that law.

Second, She is stupid. I am certain she could have easily logged onto NH.gov and looked up deadly force laws and firearms laws, but didn’t before writing this letter. Finally, She is irrational. to write this letter and send it shows to readers what the irrational left is all about.

The notion that this person is going to buy a gun because of us, is downright irrational. The real issue here is her strong statement which is mere post-election commentary and might have little to do with guns or the second amendment. This is just another sore loser…a left-wing cry-baby, a whiner. One who who suborned criminality and dishonesty with the support of Crooked Hillary. This is a temper-tantrum, adult style.

Words mean things. It is unwise to get a firearm merely because people you don’t like have firearms. You have not reconciled in your own mind who firearms owners are, what training they have or whether or not they are a law-abiding citizen.  So you buy a firearm. Are you going to take a course? perhaps two courses? the more the better. Are you going to study and know what the law has to say about deadly force? I see none of that in this letter.

Gun dealers reserve the right to NOT sell anyone a firearm for any reason. I hope where you are concerned, they fully exercise this right. Not because I think you should NOT have a firearm, but because with the letter to the editor, you have demonstrated fully why irrational people should not have guns.

Because of the capture of the government by the alt-right and the spike of hate crimes, I have sadly decided to buy a gun.

That is a great quote, by the way…I think I shall frame it. Framing nonsense is the highest form of political humor.
