Southwestern Community Services’ John Manning probably isn’t gonna get his money from Claremont

community-busObamacare -Year of the SnakeAnd may lose more.  Remember, he decided that he’d replace one failed social services transportation organization and THEN start asking for money (“aggressively”).  Well, you can “aggress” all you want, but I think that Claremont (and a whole lotta other towns and cities) ain’t gonna bend over and fork it over (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Hiring freeze, budget cuts proposed to combat health insurance spike

CLAREMONT — City Manager Guy Santagate is proposing an immediate freeze on hiring of non-public safety employees and budget cuts to make up for an anticipated 23 percent rise in health insurance costs.  Santagate said the city budget is expected to come up short by $129,000 when the 23.1-percent increase goes into effect in January.

…The city manager said in addition to the hiring freeze, department heads would be asked to make $129,000 in discretionary spending cuts. He said he hopes both recommendations will be acted on by the city council before his retirement on Dec. 31.

How’s that gonna work out for ya, eh John?  Frankly, I expect this to be more the norm than not because others are going to start running into this financial buzzsaw that Obama and the Democrats created with Obamacare.  And remember, when they passed this misbegotten crap of legislation, they made sure that all the benefits were front loaded and the costs were backloaded. And now we see a Federal mandate that is now putting local services at risk.

Yay!

Hey John, welcome to the back of Obama’s bus that just ran over your’s. Progressives – such a wonderful thing.
