Larry Lessig Thinks Poster Child For “Money in Politics Problem” Should Be Crowned President

Hillary the Lady Macbeth of LittlerockLarry Lessig’s NH Rebellion is a partisan front to advance the left’s agenda under the guise of campaign finance reform. We pointed it out “on day one” or at least reminded folks who probably already had their suspicions.

Always remember Rule number one.

If Democrats want it the odds are good it’s bad for freedom, individual liberty, State sovereignty, the Constitution, and the country. Stay away.

Lessig and NH Rebellion have repeatedly justified the warning but why stop there? That’s right, Lessig just did it again.

Larry Lessig is among the chorus of those demanding that Electors–who are bound and apportioned by state laws, by the way–ignore those laws and just vote for Hillary already.

The winner, by far, of the popular vote is the most qualified candidate for president in more than a generation. Like her or not, no elector could have a good-faith reason to vote against her because of her qualifications. Choosing her is thus plainly within the bounds of a reasonable judgment by the people.

Yet that is not the question the electors must weigh as they decide how to cast their ballots. Instead, the question they must ask themselves is whether there is any good reason to veto the people’s choice.

There is not one sane statement in this pull quote.

Hillary represents everything that is wrong with the political class. She is (super-massive-irony-trigger-warning) the poster child for the abuse of money and power in politics. Her only qualifications come as a result of being everything Lessig’s NH Rebellion exists to oppose.

Electors have ample reason to oppose demands for her coronation from the mascara smeared musings of sore-loser left-wing celebrities and the reimaginings of white-tower homunculi like Lessig.

The people made their choice.

Presidents are directly elected by states whose Electors are apportioned by the popular vote of each state.

State laws defined by the people of those states determine how their State’s Electors are divided up. They have had plenty of time to choose how their State runs their elections via legislatures and governors (both Democrat and Republican) who–though they may have changed many things over many years–felt no need to change the distribution of their State’s Electors based on their state’s popular vote.

Their vote did count. The people of each state made their choice. Lessig is just unhappy with the outcome.

His solution? Ignore State laws no one chose to change to give him the result he desires. Crown Hillary, the political poster child for everything that is wrong with money and power in politics. Everything that Lessig’s creation, NH Rebellion, claims to oppose.

Nail meet coffin.
