In 1964, they falsely called Goldwater a crazy warmonger, and ran the infamous “Daisy” ad against him. In 2016, Hillary Clinton is the dangerous warmonger, and Trump may be our last chance to step off the war escalator.
I don’t say this lightly, but let’s look at the record shall we?
- Bungled the reset with Russia – aside from poor diplomacy, the Button spelled “Overcharge”!
- Let Russia sweep into Crimea – “Lebensraum” anybody?
- Bungled Ukraine so badly that Russia doesn’t know whether we will or won’t deter them for further encroachment (and Putin’s betting we won’t)
- Let the tyrants triumph over the people in Iran’s ‘green revolution”, which we now know was because Hillary and Barry were already busy giving away the nuclear store to get a deal at any price.
- Bungled the exit from Iraq, ensuring the birth of ISIS.
- Sent more troops to Afghanistan with rules of engagement that put their lives at risk.
- Bullied Israel and coddled Hamas.
- Toppled the unpleasant but stable Ghadaffi regime in Libya leaving the place to marauding bands of terrorists.
- Ran a gun-running operation through the Benghazi Consulate, costing the lives of 4 Americans, and then threw an Egyptian film maker in jail for “causing” the uprising.
- Forced out the autocratic Mubarak and supported the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, until things got so bad that the army took over (again)
- Threatened, but did not depose the unpleasant Bashir Assad in Syria, and instead backed unreliable bands of rebels who turned out to be associated with Al Nusra and ISIS.
- Has indirectly caused the persecution of more Christian communities than any other Western “leader”.
- Blames the Russians at every opportunity, escalating tensions dangerously.
