A complaint about Obamacare hits the problem on the head

A-cartoon-obamacare-this-is-going-to-hurtVia Powerline comes a complaint from Facebook – and the underlying shafting of American deliberately by Democrats (emphasis mine):

Before Obamacare, we paid $481 per month for decent health insurance. Just got notice that we will have to pay $1140 PER MONTH next year!!! I am not kidding and yes you read that right…..that’s a mortgage payment! On top of that, we will now have a $6550 deductible per person with no prescriptions covered.

All of our doctors and clinics are no longer in-network and if we travel outside of the cities, there are no clinics or doctors covered! So if we are traveling and get sick or are in an accident, it will ALL be out of our own pocket! It is absolutely ridiculous!!!

Even though I am not crazy about my other options, I WILL NOT VOTE FOR HILLARY…..who is just carrying on what Obama started. We are just normal people working hard to run our own business….why should self-employed people be so penalized to cover all of the uninsured?!?!? We are hoping we can switch plans, but have already been told by our insurance agent that the options aren’t much better, uggghhh!

I read recently that Obamacare was responsible for $11 Billion of redistributed wealth – or as Obama said to Joe the Plumber years ago: “when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody”.  No, it isn’t good for everybody – especially those that have their hard earned wealth just taken from them “just because Progressives believe somebody else needs it more than you do” (a Progressive “tell”).  It’s only good for those that receive all that money for no real reason at all.  The Democrats here in NH (and around the nation) concentrate only on the number of people who are now covered and how WONDERFUL it is they have insurance…

…not so much that the deductibles are so high that for these low income people it’s worthless.  So the people the Progressives / Democrats want to help aren’t (typical, so typical) and the people from whom their wealth is being torn from them have basically become their replacements “in need” as THEY no longer have health insurance.

But, ya think the Democrats will own up to that?  HECK no – they’re running away from that as hard as the Republicans are from Trump!

why should self-employed people be so penalized to cover all of the uninsured?!?!?” – it certainly is not fair at all.  But then again, the “poor” (who are, from a consumer standpoint, more wealthy than most in the European middle-class) are seen by the Democrat Socialist / Social Justice Warrior class as being oppressed by the “upper classes” – so it is “payback” time for the “social injustice”.

The problem comes up in that at some point, we’ll see the intersection of “Galt’s Gulch” and Margaret Thatchers’ “Sooner or later, you run out of other peoples’ money”. More and more I see people looking around at the political scene and see that it wants their wallets more and more.  When government, summed up across all levels, is taking more of your income than you are, what is the incentive to work harder – leading to “why work at all”?  To be honest, when you look at the cash equivalent of all of the programs, subsidies, and entitlements, I bet I could live OK – and have all that time back.  Ratio of money vs time spent?  Yeah, the math doesn’t quite work out but I will tell you, when I remember back to our day-care days and see some of the State supported people literally doing nothing all day long (and bragging about it in my lobby) and me working 20 hours a day, well, I got real mad as well.  Why the heck should I be working as hard as I was to support these layabouts?

And now, given that the Democrats, the Party of Government, have so screwed it up and over, refuse to take ownership of it.  Instead of going “hey, sorry, let’s put it back” they are now saying “Hey, government screwed up and NOW WE NEED MORE GOVERNMENT INVOLVEMENT” – aka, the public option.  And that will only lead to MORE insurance companies dropping out, the Socialists claiming that the “Free Market has failed America” and go for single payer.

And if you think healthcare as become wicked expensive now, just WAIT!  Vermont thought about it until they realized that their tax rate would have to go whizzingly high (“the 11.5 percent payroll assessments on businesses and sliding premiums up to 9.5 percent of individuals’ income“) and that it just “might hurt our economy.” Ya think?

At some point, people are just going to rebel.  The problem, I see, is that too many Americans are all too willing to live at the expense of others and are no longer willing to be self-sufficient and self-reliant.  I also do wish that private charity was a more flourishing part of our Civil Society but with government crowding it out since WW II (and Bernie Sanders famously stating he’d get rid of ALL charitable organizations), Government can do anything it wants, seeming.

Until folks either participate in Irish democracy (e.g., Galt’s Gulch) or actively say no mas with fire in their eyes.
