“World-renowned” indeed. You can’t make this stuff up. Oh, wait…you can.

  • This may seem like a totally irrelevant comment, but the fastest growing capitalist economy in the world is China, which is still the People’s Republic of China, and which is still ruled by Maoists.

    • Propped up by money printing, a place where selling stocks can be deemed unpatriotic…. sure, that’s healthy.

The Chinese people are naturally entrepreneurial, and there have been outbreaks of capitalism any time the regime’s grip has been relaxed, but Socialism still doesn’t work – see the 70 year decline of Cuba, and the 20 year descent of Venezuela into total death and devastation. A well educated populace would keep leftists and statists of all flavors well away from the levers of power!

Capitalist economy? Only in comparison with the former Soviet Union. Shame on you for making a false equivalence. Yes, the ChiComs have relaxed some of the rules but the biggest players are still the state owned entities and woe to those that go against the Party line.

No Timothy, it is still a State allowed or driven economy with some capitalist parts thrown in – Communists they may be but stupid they are not. They realized that the traditional top-down command economy of their was about to do to them what it did to the Russions and very grudgingly loosened up some of the controls.

ONLY a Progressive / Socialist as yourself, Timothy, would call them a capitalist society.
