Did Rochester, NH Taxpayers Pay for This Too?

Did Rochester, NH taxpayers pay for this and is it even appropriate?

On September 10th, Rochester, New Hampshire had a Gay Pride Parade. We shared a report thanks to Kathy Dunton that the Mayor had allocated city resources to swap American flags along the parade route with Gay Pride flags. According to sources, the city had no intention of trading them back for the 15th anniversary of 9/11 the next day, but we are happy to report that thanks to pressure from citizens and the media the city did change them back Saturday after the event.

Now we’ve got another question? We know the mayor spent tax dollars on city resources to change the flags out twice. Did taxpayers also have to cover the cost to have ‘POLICE’ in rainbow colors on the uniforms of officers working the parade route?

Who made that call? Will taxpayers now be forced to pay for changes on uniforms for every event? If not, why not? And regardless of who paid for what, why are city police giving exceptional consideration for this event and what does it say when they do not repeat the accommodation for anything or anyone else?

Correction: The date of the parade was the 10th. I originally entered the wrong date.
