Media Bias question of the Day

THE HILL: A tale of two Louisiana disasters and media bias. “A very simple question, if George W. Bush was president right now and playing golf with celebrities in one of the richest zip codes in the country, would the headlines again be everywhere that portray him as insensitive, out-of-touch, even a racist president be the same now as they were 2005? Of course they would. Instead, President Obama continues his vacation that includes fundraising events for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and the relative silence is deafening.”

But then again, if Obama was a Republican, would he would be getting the “Media BDS” (Bush Derangement Syndrome”)?

Absolutely, and probably twice over even with the title of “First Black President” as they’d treat him like Clarence Thomas or any other black that has risen above the Democrat plantation of dependency. Progressivism is all about the Narrative and it is good to see Trump attacking that false notion that ONLY Democrats can “save” the black community.  Unlike many Republicans, Trump is now making the case, forcefully, that Democrats have actually done bupkis for that community especially in the large city / inner urban areas.

And the Press hates him for it for exposing not just the decades long Democrat failures (hey, all you have to look to see the rightness of it) but that the Media has toady’d up and covered it up or made like Socialists in blaming other strawmen for the ills of the black community (just like Obama does).  But hey, it’s only “the intention” and not the actual results that count, right?

To Progressives / Socialist Democrats, absolutely.

Because if it was about actual results, Obama would be in low double digit approval ratings, like 10%.  But it seems that the old “The Press is good for another 5-10% boost for Democrats” is out of date – that percentage is now much higher.

BTW, here’s what Trump speech had, in part (H/T: FrontPage Mag):

The African-American community has given so much to this country.  They’ve fought and died in every war since the Revolution.  They’ve lifted up the conscience of our nation in the long march for Civil Rights.  They’ve sacrificed so much for the national good.  Yet, nearly 4 in 10 African-American children still live in poverty, and 58% of young African-Americans are not working. We must do better as a country.  I refuse to believe that the future must be like the past.

Trump’s Dimondale speech was a pledge to African Americans trapped in the blighted zones and killing fields of inner cities exclusively ruled by Democrats for half a century and more, and exploited by their political leaders for votes, and also used as fodder for slanders directed at their Republican opponents. This was his appeal:

Tonight, I am asking for the vote of every African-American citizen in this country who wants a better future. The inner cities of our country have been run by the Democratic Party for 50 years.  Their policies have produced only poverty, joblessness, failing schools, and broken homes. It is time to hold Democratic Politicians accountable for what they have done to these communities.  It is time to hold failed leaders accountable for their results, not just their empty words.
