"Can the Government run the economy?" - Granite Grok

“Can the Government run the economy?”

Do you want Government choosing economic choices for you, or you choosing for you?

“But the economy is not a machine. It is made up of people and no one can control what billions of them are going to do”.

As we see in Venezuela or pretty much any other Socialist country. And as we have seen here in the US when Government, run by people who truly believe they know better than the rest of us, try to steer it (hey, how’d that Cash for Clunkers REALLY turn out?)

And given this Administration, which TRULY believes it knows better than the rest of us, the number of new startups is dropping fast and small companies are closing because of Government regulation (and about 277,00 regulators, each trying to justify their own positions). Only Progressives are bitter clingers to the notion that Government can successfully direct all things.

They still haven’t accepted that Utopias are unobtainable and more so, that their sense of what a Utopia for them may well be disasterous for the rest of us. But that latter fact they refuse to accept.
