Al Baldasaro – Really? You’re surprised that Republican “Elite” went after you? Not me!

Thrown under the busAl, from this double Blue Star Dad, you’re still alright in my book – you go, Devil Dog!  Kevin Landrigan (not exactly likin’ on Conservatives byline) has a piece in the UL about Al Baldasaro’s truth telling on Hillary Clinton:

LONDONDERRY — Conservative Republican State Rep. Al Baldasaro never needs to go looking for controversy — it finds him.

Yeah, well that’s what happens when you tell the truth that the Political Class doesn’t like (been there, done that).  He’s right: selling out America’s uranium stocks to the Russians, abandoning the Benghazi four to die AND THEN LIED ABOUT IT, and selling out American interests after getting Bill lucrative speaking fees from despots and ne’er-do-wells world-wide?  The money laundering that is the Clinton Foundation?  Don’t get me started.  But the worst is the reaction of the “Establishment Republican Elite” acting like Democrats in waving down the nearest bus to throw him under – but he shouldn’t have been surprised.  After all, it seems that every chance she gets, NH GOP Chair Jennifer Horn grabs for those bus keys (and Kelly Ayotte has her driver’s permit) (emphasis mine, reformatted):

The five-term legislator’s stark remarks went viral worldwide at the Republican National Convention last week. That’s when he said Democratic nominee-to-be Hillary Clinton had committed high treason and the penalty for that was death by firing squad. Establishment Republicans ran for cover from nominee Donald Trump’s campaign (“We do not agree”) to Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-NH, (“Totally irresponsible” and “no place in our society”) and New Hampshire GOP Chairman Jennifer Horn (he “should immediately apologize.”)

Of course – they have never personally ever run towards the sound of gunfire whether just the mild political kind or the kind that Al Baldasaro did in real life as a US Marine.  He’s proven his courage and they’ve proven their political cowardness.  Loyalty is what counts in Al’s world – your word is your bond and your life is worth less than your buddy next to you (the “never leave a man behind” ethos).  Loyalty in the political world is quite the ephemeral thing and I bet, in their political world, that neither Horn or Ayotte have EVER even thought about sacrificing their political careers for ANYone).

In this, they live alone.  But not Al:

But nearly a week later, this 59-year-old, retired Marine sergeant is taking nothing back and instead says he’s basking in the praise from the “silent majority” who send him e-mails and texts of congratulations.  “I got calls and texts of unbelievable support that said they were proud of me for not being scared to speak out, the silent majority,” Baldasaro said. “Sure I got some calls, swearing at me and vulgarity. My wife said, don’t answer but I am going to answer the phone; I am not scared of these people.”

And no, he shouldn’t be.  Too many politicians are – just note that Kelly Ayotte is so scared for her seat she couldn’t even drum up the courage to show up for the GOP Big Show. Unlike those that are willing to sacrifice all (but oft say little of their actions when they do that which may well require just that), folks like Horn and Ayotte are willing to sacrifice nothing.

Too often, though, in trying to avoid the political mud what the Democrat byliners in the media (and Democrats as well), they are all too willing to throw their own mud at those that stand up for Principles.  And Alicia Preston wonders why many of us no longer want to support these craven worm-slugs? But really, Al, a furrowed brow?

Baldasaro was surprised at the GOP leaders who heaped attacks on him.  “I got Kelly coming after me; I am shocked — she is married to a military man — and Jennifer Horn, she has a son in the Marine Corps,” Baldasaro said.

Duty, Honor, Courage, Promises – those mean much to you, Al; a code of ethics that actually means something to your core.  To them, when we watch their actions?  Not so much from this viewpoint.  And sure, they may get mad at me – but look at it this way : Kelly has acted contra the Constitution when you look at her votes (and has actively bad-mouthed those that do) and Horn says whatever she has to, IMHO, given the situation.

“I was surprised but that’s the ignorance of the country. They don’t know the U.S. code and don’t realize that it’s right there in the Constitution, aiding and abetting the comfort of the enemy is treason punishable by getting shot for treason.” Baldasaro said many media outlets inaccurately reported that his comments were about Clinton’s role in the death of four Americans, including an ambassador, at the U.S. compound in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012.

“Benghazi was all about stupidity and the failure to protect our foreign assets,” Baldasaro said. “I was talking about the e-mails she put on an unencrypted server where our enemies could get free access to classified information. There’s no excuse for that kind of un-American behavior on Hillary’s part.”

But Al, the Political Class either ignores that or says the hot air that they think others believe they must hear.  Fairly few actually believe the same way you do.

Don’t worry about us, Al, we at the ‘Grok have your back.

Got a problem with that?  We’ll be listening for it.  With smiles.
