Why I’m More Right And They Are More Wrong

statue-of-liberty-aI spoke about this big picture issue briefly on GrokTALK! Saturday. One of my kids pointed out that they have a teacher who speaks to the ideas of progressivism with the same certainty with which I speak about conservative principles and liberty.

I told him that it is great to hear people who feel so confident with their worldviews, but my way is still better, and here’s why.

With the progressive/Democrat worldview, you don’t want you to have a choice about how to live or how to be governed. Your only choices are to like what they have planned for you or to shut up and accept it. Rights are doled out and managed by government.

With my worldview you can still choose their way if you really want that, but you can also choose my way, or any way in between. Rights are natural and governments exist to defend them. If where you are descends into a pattern of governance you oppose, and you find it too difficult to mobilize the locals to change it, you can still find other places more aligned with your notions of constitutional liberty where you might live and work.

Progressives don’t want you to have that choice and they will not stop until they have removed it.

I’m quite certain the educator in question left that part out.
