Sexual encounter. Sexual encounter? If he were a priest wouldn’t they call it sexual abuse of a child?
In any case, the current PhillipSEXeter Academy Principal, unlike Tom Hassan, isn’t covering scandals up.She is responding and terminating immediately. Probably before someone changes ‘sexual encounter’ to “sexual abuse of a minor,” which is (trigger warning) what we’re actually talking about.
The School’s website has already scrubbed Lewis him from its pages. I was able to grab one photo of him linked to PEA that is still hanging on out there among the inter-webs but I’m not sure it is Steve Lewis, former PEA Art Chair, so I’ll keep it to myself for the time being. It’s him.
His LinkedIn profile (no picture) still lists the position at PEA but that will change once he is no longer distracted by the publicity of being fingered for child sexual-abuse and losing the cushy prep-school gig.
The Exeter police are investigating additional claims (of sexual abuse by educators) at PhillipSEXeter. We’ll share that news here if and when new cases or details become available. I expect there will be more. Teachers, as an occupation, are the biggest sexual abusers of children in the country. Pricey-elite prep schools are not proving to be any sort of exception.
