Having watched first snippets during editing, and then the whole thing on the 1am edition of Hannity this morning (better camera angles if you were lucky enough to DVR it), you will see why I was so enthused by Fiorina’s endorsement of Cruz this week, and even more so after watching this joint interview.
Ted Cruz has been conservative all his adult life, and has a long record of fighting for the constitution and bill of rights. Fiorina has become more and more conservative over time, evolving from a good moderate Republican who would stump for McCain and Romney to help the Party, into a firebrand outsider who wants to end corrupt crony government.
Reflecting on her choices at the Virginia ballot box last week, Carly says that she thought it kind of cool to have her name on the ballot, thought about her supporters, and then thought about who was standing firm for his principles – and voted for Cruz. After she’d voted and thought about it some more, Florina reached out and met Cruz, culminating in the stemwinding endorsement speech a couple of days ago, and her clear statement of support on Hannity yesterday.
This is not somebody jumping on the mandated bandwagon at the party’s command. This is not somebody endorsing the current great white hope of the GOPe, and then being unable to articulate why. This is not an overweight puppy-dog caught in the headlights on Trump’s stage, nor is it a coalition of the equally clueless, where NOBODY believes the stated reason for Dr Ben getting on The Don’s bandwagon.
No, THIS is a match of two equally sharp minds, both determined to challenge the Washington Cartel, and both wearing the arrows in their backs as badges of honor. There’s something else important: Does the Donald send Hungry Chris or Clueless Ben out to campaign for him as surrogates? Does Rubio send Santorum or even Nikki Haley on the road to whip up his supporters? They do NOT. But already, by yesterday, Fiorina had a scheduled event on behalf of Cruz in MO.
It is clear that Carly GROKS Ted Cruz, and can be trusted to speak on his behalf. Is this a partnership? Watch closely.
