Trust is fading that the US Senate Republicans will not cave to Obama on Supreme Court nominee

Tipping Point

And the incessant “asks” for money (with little to show for it in terms of the Conservative agenda being being implemented) have become tiresome and irritating.  A ‘Grok reader responds to yet another “ask” with a promise (emphasis mine):

Earlier today I received an email from Lauren Lofstrom, national finance director for Ted Cruz. My response to her is below. If you want to post it in Granite Grok, you have my permission to do so.

Lauren,

Unlike yourself, I am very sure of what else to say.

Since January 1st of this year I have received over 48 emails or physical letters from individuals such as yourself, or organizations such as the NRSC, RNC, Republican Liberty Caucus and others asking me to donate money. Seven of these just from the NRSC.

All saying that if I don’t help out with a sizeable donation, the wicked witch will end up in the White House, and our hope for tax cuts, balanced budgets and controlled immigration will vanish like snow in the spring thaw.

This is my tipping point.

From what I have read in the past week, Obama is going to make every effort to appoint a successor to Justice Scalia before he leaves office. If he sends a nominee to the Senate for confirmation, and so much as one Republican votes for that individual, I will not contribute so much as one dime to Senator Cruz or any other Republican Senator seeking the White House and will actively work against them.

Regards,
Tom Humphreys – Chair
Brookline-Mason Republican Committee

P.S. The above is my own personal opinion and does not reflect the views and opinions of any other officer or member of the BMRC.

The base is angry and if you thought that the “TEA Party rebellion” was a firefight, I can’t WAIT to see how this works out.  Once again, the phrase “you have brought us upon you” rings true.  These nitwits in DC haven’t figured out that the game has and continues to change right under their own feet.  You would think that these self-assured Smart People would have a clue as those feet start vibrating and moving?  Not so much.

The paragon is shifting – there is no more scaremongering that they can do to get a lot of the base to fall in line.  In order to have that done, the base has to see results like in the private sector: what is the ROI on investment?  What kind results can the Party show that measures up to not just expectations but the value of that investment?  What have you actually DONE to accomplish, not your goals but OUR goals?  The disruption is happening – can you adapt?  Can you see that our loyalty is only as strong as your loyalty to our Principles is?  That the traditional poli-speak isn’t working very well anymore?

That just like in the private sector, if you don’t produce, you will be out (or in a lot of cases, not even allowed in the door)?

Tipping point – indeed.  For me, it has already happened but a lot of folks are doing what they never thought they’d be doing – questioning their WHY SHOULD I BE DOING THIS?  You have sown their doubts yourself – you only have yourselves to blame.  Or is that beyond you as well?

Fight for us or we will fight you.
