So it shows, under the rubric of “it can’t happen here in America“, that it certainly can when those that have been entrusted with governmental power willingly and deliberately behave in fashions that show they put themselves first and have left in their rearview mirrors the admonishment from our Declaration of Independence. Instead of acting in ways that would fulfill the highest purpose of Government, “to secure these rights“, this calling is not to be found in their tyrannical hearts and minds.  Else, why would they be acting in direct opposition to that purpose?

It shows the wisdom of our Founders that gave us a document that just doesn’t outline a form of government but rather a practical treatise on the psychology and sociology of Man’s enduring greed for power – and how to thwart it.  It fails, however, when those in Government refuse to acknowledge and act in ways that show acceptance of that true nature.
